A Pledge

I have always believed that only the strongest of men have to capability to admit their mistakes, and it has become very clear to me that I have made some grave mistakes in the past few weeks.

I have realized that the discourse on the forums has been devolving in to much more name calling than it used to be and I talk full responsibility for this. This is my failing alone because people look to me for a precedent on how act on these forums because I am the owner after all. The see the way I act and assume it is ok for them to act in a similar manner. As of late I have become ruder, more insulting, and insensitive, and I have only become more so as I struggle with my own personal issues, but my personal life is no excuse for the way I have behaved myself. I have noticed that the discourse on the forum devolves with my discourse.

I wish to change this and to do this I pledge the following to you all.

I pledge to no longer insult the people behind the political or religious belief, but rather to assault the belief itself.

I pledge to respect other people's choices in video games, tv, literature, art, movies, and music.

I pledge to respect other people's lifestyle choices no matter how self-destructive I perceive them to be.

I pledge to no long insult people, even if they have insulted me first.

We are all brothers here, drawn together by similar interests and hobbies it is time to put aside the quarreling and move forward together. I also hope that everyone will support me in this effort to better myself and the community and I encourage you act in a similar manner.

Before I end this there are many apologies I have given out today, but now I want to give out a couple more, and say a few things.

To Kara,

I apologize for calling you a racist sack of shit, among other insults. When you started belittling native culture I was enraged considering that the women I love is a native women and I felt compelled to defend her people and culture. But I lost control and ended up saying things to you that were hurtful and insulting.

To Lenin's Beard,

I don't really think your music sucks, and I apologize for saying that I did. Everyone on this forum has a different taste in music, because music is probably the most diverse medium of entertainment, and I apologize for very saying that your tastes were somehow less worthy than my own or anyone's.

To Link,

I have nothing to apologize to you for because I don't believe I have ever wronged you, but you have wronged me plenty of times here on the forums. Despite that I still consider you to be an invaluable member of the forums and the community, I just wish you would be less insulting to everyone all the time.

To Everyone Else,

I have said this before and I will say it again, I consider everyone here to be my friend, not just a fan, or viewer, but a friend. I have no enemies here, and if I ever met any one of you in person I would happily buy you a beer (even link), (or a coffee if you are too young.)

Let us ban together once again to create the greatest community of gamers and political activists on the internet!
