I'm sure most of you have noticed this by now, but I'm not exactly anonymous. A brief look around reveals: My Name. My Age. What I Look Like. Where I Live. What University I attend. In fact after Stalin I expect I'm the least anonymous person on the forums. What I have noticed in the "what do you look like" post among others is that people seem unwilling to give out their identity in any form, whether that is their name, what they look like or even their age. (i'm more reffering to the forums older members as opposed to say the 13-17 range) So I suppose what I'd like to ask is: What is it that is so attractive about anonymity. What is so unattractive about non-anonymity.
Well it could be said that some people use the internet to escape from a terrible life and they are ashamed of letting people who have become there new friends online know who they actually are, or something along the lines.
I've posted the one picture that doesn't look anything like me... and my age and my old school. People are scared of kiddy fiddlers, thats why you don't dole yo shit out.
Meh i have always had a problem with posting pictures of myself online. Even on facebook, i have no pictures of myself (besides the ones friends post on their own page were i am tagged). Also when we are making skiing edit's i tend too remove most of my shots, using the classic excuse "din't think it would work well in the edit" or the "angle was wrong" etc. I guess i like staying "hidden" although i talk/type freely about myself and my belifes, questions,problems etc. There is just somthing diffrent about posting pictures of your self.
It is just that I am so incredibly good looking that if I were to post a picture of myself, as well as giving out my information, you would all swarm to my residence in an attempt to catch a glimpse, whiff, or piece of me.
There should be a picture on the forums somewhere, anyone who has me on Skype knows my real name, and I couldn't give a damn whether people know my age or university.
I just felt like posting that for no apperntly reason, but honestly when i go to Omegle one of the first things i give out is ASL. Unless im trolling pretending to be Secret agent from iran.
