Well I asked numerous people and half said yes other half said no so... yes or no? Also only if I cant is that the case with original Xbox and 360?
I believe you have to buy a part that you put underneath the PS3 to play PS2 games... I wanted to do this too and I asked a game stop guy and he said there was a limited amount of those "things".
What type of PS3 do you have? If you have one of the original 40gb or 60gb fat PS3's, like I have, you can but otherwise you can't.
Idk but since I ust got it last november or so its proably new. I mean I dont see the point of not letting us, wii lets us play gamecube games.
If you bought it new than it can't play PS2 games. They dropped it a year or so after the PS3 release. I believe it had something to do with the costs.
Only the original 20 GB, 60 GB and 80 GB original versions. The original 40 GB was not backwards compatible, and neither were the later 80 GB and 160 GB versions. All versions of the PS3 to date can play PS1 games. All this information is fully accurate. A simpler way of identifying is this: if your PS3 has a capacity of either 20 or 60 GB, then yes. If you have an 80 GB PS3, if it was originally sold before August 2008 then yes, otherwise no. Everything else no.
well, there's always the God of War bundle you can buy through the PSN, also there's some PS1 classics in there if you want, but the PS3 doesn't read DVDs.
Yeah I noticed that but from what I saw none of the games I wanted were on there. Red Dead Revolver, original destroy all humans, bully, san andreas, max payne, star wars: Battlefront. The list goes on and on. Edit- It seems like those games came out of Xbox too so you guys know if it will be the same on the 360?
I know San Andreas, bully, max Payne and star wars battlefront were all on PlayStation and PlayStation2. I know I own them.
I had a 60GB fat PS3 awhile back, and played PS2 games on it. I sold it and it was a very rare PS3 because of the serial number and that it was backwards compatible. My new Slim will not accept PS2 games, and any new versions to be released will not either.
