I personally do not know another language besides English but I am currently taking a Spanish course in my high-school. What languages do you speak? Me gusta el foro de Stalin.
I know some* Japanese and Portuguese. Not a lot. My biological father was Japanese and taught me some but he wasn't in my life for very long. My current Dad is trying to teach me Portuguese but it's going a little slow. xD
I speak Finnish, English, Russian, Swedish, Ukrainian & Estonian. I want to learn German & Spanish, maybe Japanese.
Finnish is my native and Estonian sounds kinda like bad finnish, although it is still different. Russian (Reading & writing some what poor though) & Ukrainian. If you speak russian you can understand ukrainian, there is just few different words and maybe slightly different pernounciation. So Finnish, Russian & Ukrainian. Abouth english it is for you guys to judge. I might not be perfect at spelling etc. But I do understand everything.
English is my first language and the only one I'm fluent in. I also know a bit of French (2 years study) and Japanese (also 2 years study). My recollection of French is atrocious but I can get the gist of basic conversation. My Japanese is much better as it was more recent but, again, I can only participate at the most rudimentary level. I have recently purchased a book & CD of Icelandic because it's a language that interests me and I'm going to attempt to self learn it anticipating an eventual visit. Unlike many Americans I prefer to have at least a basic understanding of a language before I travel as I don't expect everyone to speak English. I consider it respectful to at least try and converse in their native tongue.
My first language is Dutch (which I've heard is one of the harder languages to learn...I can kinda get that), and I'm good at English, if I do say so myself. Furthermore, I had 3 years of French and German in school (hated the teachers, so I dropped them as soon as I could), but I can't do much more then follow simple conversations and say I don't speak the languages very well. My German is better than my French though, as German sounds more like Dutch than French does. I've also had Ancient Greek for one year, but I only know 1 or two words. I can write the Greek alphabet though. And this year, I have my Latin exams (all my exams actually), which I've had for 5 years. I can only translate from Latin though, and maybe to Latin a bit, but I can't have a Latin conversation of any sorts. Oh, and from watching Bleach in Japanese, I kinda know 2 or 3 words...
English, Serbian, Croatian, Spanish(not fluent thouhg), and im studying Latin, soon ill start Greek and possibly Russian/Ukranian, Bulgarian, Slovenian, Macedonian and other slavic languages.
I speak Swedish, English and I'm learning German. I hope to give up my german and study Italian soon though.
English, mild Spanish, and a modicum of Arabic. I know Latin and Greek roots, but I certainly couldn't speak the language. That said, I think I could figure out a Latin signpost.
I'm from Norway so naturally I can speak Norwegian. I can also write both Nynorsk ("New Norwegian") and Bokmål ("Book Language"). Yeah we totally have two written languages here =] I'm also fluent in English, and ofc Swedish and Danish (cause I'm from Norway, it's kinda like a far out dialect). And I'm currently learning German, but I fail hard cause I cba to practise the fucking kasus bs... =P
