We now seem to be heading for a conservative majority, with NDP oppositions.

Most conservative gain happen to be in Ontario, mostly due to divided vote between the NDP and the Liberal around Toronto. It is also a region of good number of gain for the NDP.

Quebec mostly switched to NDP almost everywhere, they got about 40-45% of the vote in the Province, some conservative county were lost (actually we most likely got 6 of them left of the 11 they had), the Bloc Québécois lost its major party status in the Parliament, so most likely will no longer appear on the election in the next election. For those of you that think it might be a gain against Quebec independence movement, be sure it is not, it mostly a sign that people in Quebec want Canada to work, but we also also have around 80% of the suffrage that are not conservative, so depending what the conservative do with their majority they could well reignite the independence will. Also this mean that lot of the depute of the Bloc will now move to provincial, possibly giving a large boost to the provincial Parti Québecois, especially since the other major on provincial level is extremely unpopular right now due to controversy. But Quebec vote could still be very flexible in next election, especially since lot of NPD deputy are quite young and lack experience.

Where most of the conservative were lost in Quebec were around Quebec city, mostly for not not working with the city in the finance to build a new amphitheater required for the return of the Nordic, which is something that mayor of the city, who is was reelected with a huge majority really making huge work for (he had like 80% of the vote with 50% participation, so 40% of the voting population).

This election is also the worse election for the Liberal party (the only party that is there since the confederation in 1867, present day conservative are a merge of the original conservative with a more radical right party [Canadian Alliance]) since the foundation of Canada in 1867. Which depending on event of present mandate event and/or next election result could lead to the end of the party.

The green party leader seem to have won in it county, so the green party finally got a deputy on the hill.

Two of the party leader were defeated: Liberal Party and Bloc Québécois.

Seat seem to be: 166 conservative, 103 NDP, 34 Liberal, 4 BQ, 1 Green (still not final result but seem stable enough now to say number)

Seem to be about 60% participation.

Saskatchewan had 32% NDP vote, but the whole province is conservative deputy except for one place that is liberal.

About 40% conservative, 31% NDP, 19% Liberal, 6% BQ and 4% green, no idea for the others right now.

EDIT: most likely will update again, thing are also a bit in a draft so sorry if a bit lack in organization. Going to sleep now and will most likely wake up in haste to go to work, so a bit before I update again, will have time to read some news paper also, especially since I work in a library, so have access to almost all the major journal.

Okay, i'll check that out tomorrow. I'm from Britain, i'm very interested in this election all the sudden. I'm booking my favorites for the New Democratic Party, since their central-left, but also i can't stand Conservatives, no matter where they are. I heard about Jack Layton being diagnosed of having Cancer, but i think his fine now. He fundamentally deserves to be the next Prime Minister of Canada.

I heard Stephen Harper not so great. I heard he wanted to buy some Stealth planes (B2 Spirit) off America.

I know this is not really important for me, but i like to see elections from different countries.

I think that there's a lesson to be learned from this election, I have no idea what it is though.

I love how the Bloc lost 46 seats. Thats just amazing, most to NDP too.

Edit: If all of the Bloc voters would have smartened up and voted NDP because that is an actual realistic approach to a semi-pro Quebecer party, and the vote wasters of the green party would have voted for a realistic approach to going green being the NDP, there is no doubt that the NDP would have one some close ridings.

Yes, but if it is because your against the independence of Quebec, remember depending how the conservative act, those for independence could come back stronger then ever, for Quebec had less then 20% of conservative vote. But at least it might be also the reason that will moderate the conservative majority, the trouble is that if they do moderate themselves correctly is that the conservative could gain back in Quebec, cause most chance the political map will still be unstable next election.

i take that back. Here is what I said on Facebook after sobering up after the bar and watching the speaches.

After watching Mr. Harper's speach, I can say that I will endorse him as prime minister of Canada, though very very bitterly. As long as he keeps a CANADIAN stance of health care as he said, and he does not screw up I will recognize him as prime minister. Meanwhile I am going to still voice my opposition to him, but congradulate him on this victory for his party.

Also, Jack, that was one hell of a seccond place speach, you sounded like you won first! Good Job NDP

Liberals, though you displayed a vallient effort, displayed some great values that all Canadians share, the skills of your leader were not satisfactory to most Canadians I talked to on the phone. I hope you continue with your values and I hightly respect your courrage and acceptance of defeat.

I am not a communist, but I kinda like Syndicalist, interesting ideology that has never been tried. Though I am a soscial democrat as I was before.

w00t a majority government. Now our Parliament will get something done. Quite happy that Ignatif was booted out. Too bad about his eyebrows though. They could have gone far.

Five seats wouldn't make a difference.

But they are things being done we don't want.

Yes because privatized healthcare, a reduced education budget, a reduced social spending budget and an increased military budget are good things to be done.

Canadian citizens disgust me how any man or woman could vote for a unintelligent man who is an advocate for directly paying parents so they can pick their preferred child care. which is 100 % retarded and pointless and a waste of tax payers money. and so is universal day care, but Harper's method is even more ludicrous. he supports private prisons and the gun registry's abolition AND wants mandatory minimums. (who likes to see a 18 year old's life ruined for carrying a joint in his pocket to a party?) all of which which have failed catastrophically in every country its ever been in. Harper and every ignorant bastard that can't look past anything other than fucking tax rates and can't see the wonderful benefit of jack Layton's tiny tax increase to large corporations and the rich (which would benefit every Canadian hugely and allow all people - regardless of economic status (that still applies grade wise) - to get a post secondary education) should jump in the fucking sea. I'm appalled at our public. i can't wait to see the conservatives get rammed in the 2015 election because every one is fucking tired of their bull shit bills and bull shit ideas. how can you ignore EVERY POLICE CHIEF IN THE COUNTRY who says, "keep the gun registry! it makes it easier to catch criminals!" but noooooo, Harper being the ignorant bastard he is ignores them because he says IT COSTS TOO MUCH. and the mandatory minimums AND private prisons. that is how to run a country, allow people to make a buck off of someones incarceration, because hey, that is what the USA did and they didn't fuck up at all. i swear when the conservatives get like 4 seats next election because everyone is fed up with their bullshit decisions I'll just laugh and laugh. they are dictators and will restrict our freedoms just like they showed at their rallies where they kicked out people for being seen with other party members or leaders ON THEIR PRIVATE FACEBOOK PAGE. they will institute internet surveillance, which is another invasion of citizens privacy. (they say it is just to follow and to catch criminal activity, but who - given the power - wouldn't use that surveillance system to their advantage?) they will abolish abortion and gay marriage, disallowing young teenage girls still attending high school who become pregnant to abort that child so they can live life and continue going to school instead of having to drop out and go work to support the unplanned child and not letting a loving couple get married just because they are of the same sex. it will be like the goddamn patriot act in the USA. please, I'm asking everyone, to fight against them. protest, start a fucking revolution - i don't care. don't let them block our freedoms. fight them, and stop them.

That is one of the conservative party's main goals.......

If you have not noticed the conservative party was NEVER in favor of universal healthcare, they fought it every step of the way and will continue to fight it.
