Because the thread where we were talking about this was locked, mainly due to irrelevece to the OP, I figure I might as well make a new thread to fully discuss this.

    Here were the preposed changes:

Only lock for off-topicness/spam if there have been about 3 full pages of irrelevntness.
In off-topic and People's Assembly, threads would be practically unlockable as obviously a few conditions would obviously need locks.
If the thread is in neither role-playing, the People's Assembly, or tech help, the thread starter would not be call for a lock after 2 pages of conversation.

I shouldn't have to tell you how I feel, but I am curious how many people actually have a problem with this. My bet is virtually none.

so we would have to deal with 3 pages of spam before we could do anything?

Number 2 is not a possibility, suggesting that both off-topic and PA threads be almost completely unlockable is only limiting our abilities to do our jobs. Nothing more.

    Irreleventness, actually.

It's more that even past 2 pages a thread can still be saved by about 3 it's just not worth keeping. According to you though the mods already pretty much use this system so it would just be a formality.

Off-topicness is just the chill forum, I don't even think you guys lock threads there except that one on MLP which went off-topic for like 20 pages which would be considered an exception.

Anyway, PA probably should. An issue can never really be resolved unless it's something like the Thread where I asked for that new Coffee House rule to be stickied on the Coffee House forum and it was already a global announcement. Which, again, was an exception worthy of locking.

It doesn't really limit your ability to work as much as it would make your work easier.

    Yes, inb4lock

Well, this kind of screws my side since all the mods will just vote 100% no. =P

Oh well, easy come easy go.

11 out of like 40 active members is a bit much.

Anyway, it is the People's Assembly though, you guys have the whole Senate thing to voice your opinions and stuff, the People's Assembly should probably only be members/tribunes, it's just about dominated by mods. Although if all the mods left this would be the most inactive thread ever.

Mods are members too. We have a vote in the elections of Tribunes. We have a vote in everything normal members do.

You have the Senate though, all Mods involving in the People's Assembly is break the whole balance of power concept.

This is actually something being discussed in the mod section now as some of us believe the People's Assembly should be left to the Tribunes and some believe that we should be involved in there to. Chelsea's point remains though, we are people and forum users as much as we are moderators.

    =D

I need more evidence to prove that Stalin is a ticking-time bomb who's waiting for the perfect opertunity to revoke our right to have rights and kick puppies right after he bans breathing.

Let me guess, the thread is leaning incredibly in favor of mods being able to vote on the people's tribunes?

We are the mods, not the Tribunes. It is not the Tribunes job to be mods.

Why shouldn't we? We are just as much members as anyone else. It's not like our votes count for two.

That's a double-edged sword. If everyone should be equal, let's disband the Senate because the mods are just as much averge members as the average members, why would they get extra power?

Now, I'm fine with the Senate but if you've already each got 4x as much governmental power (or so) as the average member I don't think you should be complaining.

Wait, what does Stalin making this section have to do with him currently hunting for a justification to ban me?

Stalin is looking out for this community's democracy so saying he wants to take away your rights is just plain wrong, I know you were joking but we're going to stick with mocking me for now. the 2nd part was a friendly reminder to watch what you post
