China recently launched it's first aircraft carrier. All I have so say about this is "china will grow larger."

Good for China I guess. They're finally on par with the French military...

At the same time Taiwan announced a missile designed to destroy aircraft carriers apparently.

ASMs were a fad before the Aegis-equipped cruisers/destroyers become a component of US carrier groups.

I had no idea that the PLAN didn't have any aircraft carriers, so this is interesting news to me

I've heard they had a big-ass land force, but i've never heard much about their air force.

I don't know why America is so concerned about it though.

Good for them, I mean the state of their economy is terrifying me but I hope it works out well.

Having them eventually match the USN in the Pacific would be nice to see.

Yeah, I heard about that in the news about a month ago. Still not as cool as the shovels, though.

Those shovels will ensure China's military victory when the resource wars begin next decade. No other nation will be able to fight AND dig for oil so efficiently.

I read about this a while ago, and apparently it's an outdated cold war era ship.

I like how the ship is named after a Chinese Admiral who invaded Taiwan in the 1600s.

I think that's gives us a pretty good idea of what they want to do with it.
