Footbinding was a barbaric practice that I am glad both Nationalist and Communist have moved past such ancient traditions that were never needed.

MOD EDIT (KALI): The insanely off topic posts about China and footbinding and other assorted nonsense have been split from the 'State of the Union' thread.

Just remember to never call it 'barbaric' to one of their faces. True or not, the statement will make them hate you. And if anything you learn about Far Easterners: they hold grudges for A LONG time.
By calling something that they did for years and years 'barbaric' [besides the whole 'one who does not speak Greek' thing] implys that your arrival as a Westerner 'civilized' them.
They might agree that getting rid of it was a great step towards civilization, but they will hate you for it all the same.

Such bold statements are part of the reason why some Far Easterners are so slow to accept ANYTHING from the West, right or not. It is because they HATE when you call them out on anything. Even if the whole of the CPC thought that Democracy was the way to go, they wouldn't take it until you BACKED THE **** OFF.

For that matter, so do most people.

Yet I find it highly unlike they would not do the same to me or my culture if we did such a thing, and Im entitled to my opinion that is something that the Chinese state and people are better off without, and if so does make them hate me then so be it. and besides its perfectly natural to call something barbaric when your first arrive to a new place its called cultural shock, but eventually the new comer begins to accept the culture he is at or even attempt to change it. if they hate me for it so be it.

and as such western thought requires us to pressure people to a point they just give in and do it, where two ideological different cultures and us agree on anything is very rare. and the east has every right to mistrust the west after the western imperialism.

What you do is your choice. But if you find yourself on a 'no fly list' to any Far Eastern country don't tell me that I didn't warn you.
    And "Middle Kingdom".

It may or may not be a matter of a backlash for Western Imperialism. They may not like you simply because you are foreign. Even before the West even existed, Far Easterners, particularly Chinese, were mistrustful of any foreigners. One of the few exceptions was the Mongol Dynasty, which only prefered foreigners because they knew that the Chinese people hated them. Part of the reason is the legacy of Chinese cultural influence. The Chinese became proud of it and their neighbors became firece guardians of the unique parts of their own cultures, no matter how much of an aged photo-copy of Chinese culture it was.

Can I use all mighty money to beg the to ask me in, although actually Im trying to get a trip to North Korea yeah for contacting the NK government.

Which there mistrust of foreigners might come to bite them in the ass, especially the Japanese with there lowering population they will be unable to get foreigners to be willing to integrate and live in Japan thus causing a drast population degress combined with age factors this will not be good on the Japanese work force. The Chinese took so many records of foreigners and everything they did it is simply amazing. ah yes the Mongol Dynasty got to love the Mongols.

    Maybe.
    But don't expect fair prices.
They don't 'like' foreigners. They like the money. If you don't have money, you really don't have much of a place in their country.
    True.
But on the other hand, they could choose to hire Chinese or Koreans rather than Westerners.
As much anamosity as there is between them, at least between a Chinese and a Westerner you know for sure if they slipped poisen in your tea.
I am not quite sure what you meant here.
Ah yes! My fellow Chinese, you know!

The prices will be what the state tells me the prices will be, and yeah I got more then enough money to make it there and do quite alot I AM SO GOING TO KIM IL THEMEPARK (yes that exist)

They will still need some other outside workers from the west especially since Japan is loved by Americans now or at least the groups I hang out with much rather have a Japanese friendly state, and it will be a question of will the Eastern countries get along for it, and besides I much rather have eastern tea even if its poisoned.

The Han Chinese took great notes of people when they first arrived, characterizing and listing every such detail of there actions and being hugely judgmental within days of meeting the new people.

All Chinese people loved the Mongols, true hardcore 100% fact without a doubt no way im wrong.

And who is to stop them from charging you a rediculous amount?
'loved by' is not the same as 'love'. Contrary to popular belief it CAN be one way. Just because they allow you in doesn't mean that they like you.
So would I if I was in their position.
Strange pale skinned one with strange clothes and habit and uttering strange sounds from beyond the known borders.
And remember: "Middle Kingdom". As far as they were concerned, if they called you a 'inferior', that was a compliment, since automatically you started as a 'foreign barbarian'. It means that you made enough progress for them to bother changing your title. :)
    Ha ha ha.
    No.
They have a lukewarm-warm relationship now.
    We are all Chinese together.

There is nothing to stop them, and I will gladly pay. Mostly cause I think it would be cultural interesting to see North Korea that last true isolated state.
