My mom was talking about how she always rode a bike and how not enough kids would ride bikes now a days. I said its just a new generation. Her response was that human beings dont just change and stop doing these things. It got me thinking that what if we do change after each generation.
    What are your thoughts?

With technological advancements at this rate over the past 100 years, each generation was different from the last. It's very noticeable of you look at the last generation and the one before that. My Grandfather walked to school, my father walked to an area where the bus picked him up, and now I wait for the bus at my house to pick me up.

Well riding the bus vs walking has more to do with how far away you live from school. plenty of kids still walk to school, and i still have to walk to a bus stop. But still the point remains that technology has changed how we live, a century ago most people walked or rode horses, now everyone has a car.

I know a lot of people who walk to school and a lot of people who walk a long distance to a bus stop.

The culture chances. But other than that no. I mean like our DNA is 90% the same as 12 000 thousand years ago. And we are still savages, witch reminds me of this. Fun shit

People today have instant access to virtually any information they want. Formal education may not have advanced much in the past few generations, but our individual exposure to concepts and ideas has increased exponentially. As well, the knowledge and skills that each successive generation possesses have become progressively more specialized and arbitrary. The level of general knowledge as a proportion of total knowledge possessed by the individual has decreased dramatically, but the depth of our knowledge regarding whatever specialization we choose is considerably larger. Much of what we experience is actually just experience-by-proxy, and I think that that's largely responsible for the general apathy and hedonism displayed by our current generation.

As to the OP, the answer is objectively yes, because that's how genetic change actually occurs. However, people are not subject to change simply because they were born at a certain point in time. The basic nature of our being is static and the direct result of personhood. To imagine it changing is to imagine a new type of person or a non-person, neither of which are particularly enticing concepts for humans to become.

Dud me and all my friends always used to ride bikes, but maybe that's just because I live in a rural area. Unless you do too of course, in which case, go ride a bike!

Human beings don't change, it is just that each new generation changes the world more than the previous.

You have taken heroine, so yes. I do have a right to call you that, and you are obviously proud of it. If you were not then you wouldn't show it to the entire forums. That is assuming that it isn't a load of bullshit that you made up.

You have no idea about how hard it is to give up and when you do to see some ignorant prick to call you a smackhead.
