I saw God. Not in a vision of religious clarity way. He had an eye patch. The rest of the dream was weird but that topped it. I also had a narrator narrating my actions.

I actually just had a dream that EugeneofSavoy18 was related to me. Like my whole extended family was there and staying at like a cabin on a lake during the winter. There was some briefcase out on a bridge and for whatever reason I had to get it but do so in my pajamas. And for some reason it was like all stealthy and I snuck back in when I had it. Then I woke up.

i had a nightmare years ago when i was still in elementary school. i was at my school on the blacktop and everything was covered in snow. some of the kids from my school were playing in the snow. i was walking along taking in the sights when i fell down a huge crater in the ground. i looked up and a huge polar bear was right on top of me! i turned around to try to climb out of the pit but it was too steep. i turned around just in time to see him take a swipe at me with his claws and thats when i woke up. i wonder what it means?

Probably nothing; Freudian psychology has been discredited for some time.

Slow down there cowboy. It is true that large parts of Freudian Psychology are not accepted anymore. Such as psychosexual development, fixations, catharsis, the id ego and superego and the struggle between them etc. But a few fundamental parts of Freud's theories remain. No psychologist is going to argue that your relationship with your parents doesn't have a profound effect on you, something that is very much a product of Freud's theories. Also all psychologists agree (unless you are a hardcore behaviourist) that all humans use defence mechanisms such as repression, projection, rationalisation, to reduce anxiety. Another one of Freud's theory's. When it comes to dreams however, we simply don't know enough about them to accurately say if they do, or don't have any significance. It is a very new field of study. I personally know that I have gained some insight about personal issues, and abstract philosophical problems through dreams. I don't think, however, that they hold the key to unlocking all my past anxiety by connecting the latent content to the relationship between my parents and my genitals as Freud did.

I had a dream where John McCain and Barack Obama had to work together to get back to the past from the future to save the present. Also, I was Samuel L. Jackson. Another was where me and Jesus fought an army of Vikings to free America.

If the Vikings had settled America it'd probably be a better place now. Why would you and Jesus fight them? :p But seriously, that's a really cool dream! Wish mine had that level of epicness...

As I kid I used to have recurring nightmares of drowning or sinking in quicksand. Anymore my dreams consist of being with people I used to know and just doing completely mundane things. Completely boring.

I agree with you here, except for what I made bold and underlined. While most defense mechanisms are still regarded as plausible, there is a fundamental rift between Psychologists concerning repression, particularly between Research Psychologists and Practitioners. According to a Memory and Cognition class I took last semester, repression is regarded as phony by practically every researcher in the field of psychology. Like most of Freud's theories were, repression is non-verifiable, which means it cannot be proven nor disproven by actual science. However, from what researchers know of memory, repression is so highly improbable that it is worth suggesting that there is really no such thing. For children young enough (pre-language learners), the cognitive explanation would be that they encoded memories in a manner that their brain is incapable of recalling once they have learned a language. I don't recall all the details at the moment, but I can try searching through my notes and textbook if you'd like more information. Anyways, researchers say repression is not an actual phenomenon while clinical psychologists still argue that it is (without any supportive evidence).

Now, to actually make a comment about memory here, I don't think that there are meanings behind memories. However, perceiving meanings can lead to self-fulfilling prophecies and the like. What I mean is that someone might try to avoid an outcome that they come to believe was the meaning of a dream. However, by pursuing that path of attempting to avoid an event that they can't be sure will occur, they actually lead themselves to the exact situation that they sought to avoid.

I do agree that dreams can provide insight, but they don't have hidden meanings or involve visions of the future (yeah, I've heard it), etc. Dreams are suspected to be your mind's process of sorting and storing information and memories. We all dream every night, but we don't recall dreams unless our sleep cycle is disturbed, either by reaction to something in the dream or by some external influence.

One dream a long time ago, I was in a water park and apparently I had lost my pet turtle. I asked one of the attendees if they saw my pet turtle and they said no. I asked one if they saw my giant pet turtle and they said no. Finally I asked if one had seen my giant mechanical pet turtle and heard that it was at one of the dried up wave pools. When I got there I found the turtle and I was joined by police who heard of my plight but we were ambushed by two giant Koopas (the size of multi-storied buildings) armed equally giant sledgehammers who chased us through the pool Yakety-Sak style until we escaped. To celebrate my Dad and I went to the water slides. At the end of a water slide a giant shark came up and devoured my legs in one gulp! Very quickly my other half was devoured rather painfully and quickly (with plenty of gore like Dead Space 2) as most of the crowd was too astounded to do anything and the few who dried to do anything were eaten alive in the same manner.
This dream like a lot of others constantly repeated itself until I woke up. I still remember it often as if the dream is ongoing.

One recurring aspect of my dreams is low-gravity.
I guess deep down jumping a great distance into the air and floating back down is the most glorious thing I can ever hope to do.

One time when I was in 4th Grade I dramed that my school had a massive, hidden underground basement in the bathrooms. Inside there was a sort of Child-Casino run by all the Blonde Girls at my school who would use Boys as "Serfs" for their Casinos. They were also plotting a take-over of the school.

Through a series of misadventures, I led a revolution and instituted a Boy-Supremisist Government there and became rich with crackers, which they used as currency.

In the end though, I woke up when I started taking a "bathroom break" and that's when my Morning took a turn for the worst.

I think there's a movie where that happens. But the enemy against France is wearing White so I think they were fighting the Austrians.
