I think we can all admit that at one time or another we've all crossed the line an been a little over rude to other members. And that when we have done that it caused all kinds of People's Assembly nonsense. I propose, then, that there be some kind of rule about etiquette. Not like super strict or anything, but just enough to keep the douche-baggery at a low. You can still be harsh on people, but hopefully it will keep people from crossing the line. If anyone has any suggestions on specifics, it would be helpful.

Sounds alright. Maybe you could compose something?

I might, but I'll need some help, I don't want to overstep any boundaries. I guess it will basically be like this
    1. No excessively and repeatedly rude or disrespectful behaviour.
    2. On the other hand, no excessive reporting of other's comments.
    3. Well, see here I need help...

I'd not formulate rules, but I'd make some examples like:
"Don't say this: 'Hey, asshole, you wrote that wrong!'
But say this: 'I don't want to be rude, but I think you should know that you wrote that wrong.'"
It sounds silly, but this way people can compare their own replies to the examples.

True, that is really all I'm trying to get across: DON'T BE A DICK!

But the question is: Where will you draw the line?
