    What are your thoughts on the Freemasons and is anyone in the Freemasons?

    Isn't there a myth that the Freemasons are Templars.

    I'm not sure. I've heard rumors about the Freemasons relating to the Templar's. Where did you hear the myth from?

    Well there's a story, that when the purge of the Templars was going on, the few that survived fled to Scotland... and started to help building churches and chapels... something along those lines anyway.... and these men created a masonry Guild with some other builders.

    The whole story is a little fragmented, seeing as I don't remember it that well, but it goes something like that.

    Also there is some link between Freemason rituals and symbols... and the Knights Templar symbols and rituals.

    Me too. I can't think some Freemasonry secret society that formed in Scotland can relate to some Knight's Templar's that were guarding the travels to Jerusalem.

    I heard somewhere about the rituals and symbols having something in common.

    @Romulus

    Freemasons are secretive stonemasons from the 14th Century, that are said to have recognized other craftsmen via a secret signal. They are an ellaborate organisation that practices secret rituals.

    There are roughly 6 million members today.

    @C_G

    They do exist... there's fucking 1.5 million members in England and there are many Freemason lodges and Grand lodges across the country.
    Just go to London and you'll find the Freemasons Hall that belongs to the United Grand Lodge of England who are Freemasons.

    No, not really. Taking this from someone else is knowledge about the Freemasons. When you have applied to join the Freemasons. You have to believe in some unknown being. You go to some ceremonies every 5 or 6 times a year, rehearsing various rituals and that. Normally, Freemasons help each other out, financially most of the time. Also, basically the Freemasons do various of signals to inform to other Freemasons that their one of them.

    Here's some of the signals:
