Alright... another one of these. Pretty much, I'm wondering if anyone is still interested in the whole, space side of roleplaying, seeing as how everything is drifting towards fallout and past tech. So, anyone interested in futuristic? we could do realistic roleplay, or just sci-fi as a whole. By the way, with this, i am willing to make a map, where each empire has a couple of planets, so we can have battles for actual places.
To start with, FO is futuristic... Additionally, you are not really bringing anything new to the table, as the current FO game also includes terrictories.
Um.... no. The game is set in 2277. The war occurred in 2077. So more like 65 years of technological growth. Add onto that that the FO universe split with our history following the Second World War and you have double the number.
Really, almost no one has, well, airplanes. Having newer rifles and a few new armors is... not really progress. But i'm talking more futuristic like actual civilizations on different planets in the solar system, or near solar systems to Earth. Or something completely different.
True. The FO universe's closest thing to common working aircraft are Vertibirds, but that does not mean that there cannot be working aircraft in the game. And remember, the BOS built airships to pursue the reminents of the Master's army. Not to mention that there are plenty of abandoned aircraft in both FO3 and FO:NV. It is entirely probable that the people would get some of them working. And remember also that there are the Boomers in FO:NV who can aquire a bomber for use in the final battle. You COULD make a game with different planets, but I fail to see the difference it would make.
It would be interesting. Instead of small and large infantry and vehicle battles and maybe a few dogfights, that's all the FO universe can offer to us. But with future tech, we can have massive ships shooting laser, nukes, and god knows what at each other. Plus instead of instability and control over territories, it's now entire planets we are talking! I'll be willing to play.
Sky says he will be creating the factions, although I would like to be lead a small faction of sexy elven-like people to glory. But not those dirty sylvan elves, high elves, but they look sylvan. And I would look like Legolas!.
Erm, you can make your own species if you choose. I was actually hoping you'd guys want to help me. Do you think it should be a randomly generated map of planets, and then each person gets, say, 4? That would mean that battles over territory would, as said in OP, actually gain you something. I could also come up with a population increase system, as well as a money system, if anyones interested?
Hmm. Korean, could you go find a map with, lets see, roughly 30 planets on it? Or something like that? Unmarked, though. Each individual person can make races. Does anyone have an opinion on what/if we should use as our Faster then light travel drive? OR if we should even have one?
Well that may be necessary based on the fact hospitable planets are not exaclty close together. Also perhaps more battles over resources such as mining operations near asteroids will be interesting. Also perhaps customization of battle cruisers, But there will need to be rules layed down for that so there is no Uber ship. Also perhaps hero units.............but im getting ahead of myself. im excited
Hmm. That seems good. How about, one planet per star? Plus asteroid belt, and up to 3 uninhabitable planets? And then we split it up, 4 planets per person, and the rest of the planets are, say, unable to be reached during the course of this game, until someone else joins up? That would make it nice and intense for the first few posts, until someone else posts.
... No Hero Units. This is supposed to be realistic. At least, partially. Yes, there needs to be rules. How about, only 2 ships per each type of ship? Like, 2 types of Cruiser, 2 types of dreadnaught. And no ships longer then, say, 2 kilometers? Is that good?
Probably something like Warhammer 40K to make the game more interesting. Random events in which people lose ships in transit.
Yea, that should be interesting. So, main rules are 1. No ship longer then 2 kilometers 2. 4 worlds per empire 3. Some kind of monetary system, so that trade deals will mean something? 4. Random Events by 3rd party In-Game-Moderator And, you know.... Add to that as you will. Including a population system, so that you can only have a limit of ships. By the way, Warhammer 40k is too slow for me. How about Star Wars, which can get you places much faster?
