I finally wore out old faithful. I've schlepped, yes schlepped, it across more of Europe than a PC mouse should have to bear and now the buttons are soft and the scroll wheel no longer scrolls. So I put it to you to suggest me a new one. I have been looking at the Razor ones because they are sexy, but are they any good? Obviously wireless, and if the receiver was small extra points would be awarded. I like how Logitech can combine peripherals into one receiver. That is nice. So, take it away I guess.
Well, I can suggest some cheap thing. They work fine, and don't tend to break. I think I've had this crappy €5,- thing for years now, and only recently it has started acting up a bit.
I could get something cheap I suppose, though I do tend to invest in things that will last me years. I don't mean just build quality, but have features that I might not use now but will be grateful for in the future.
Well, as I said, I've had this thing for about 5-7 years now, and it's been doing great. It has two buttons and a scroll wheel, and that's all I need, really.
I still use my Razor Naga from when i was big into WoW, a few years back. lol i can play diablo 3 with one hand and the other a coffe. It is a good mouse but verry pricy, as with all razor products. I guess the things with mouses is allways what you intend to do with them. For fps you might want to look into a mouse that can adjust dpm on the fly and in general have a high dpm count. I was big into counter strike back in the day, and playing competitively was verry much dependend on a good mouse, however technology got to the point the last few years, where even cheap products have a verry high standard. If you plan on doing lot's of mmos (hotkey based ones) i sugest a mouse with multiple buttons on it. (naga has to many) For standard or broke players, i sugest a cheap logitec with one or two extra buttons on it.
This is the way I like to play too. Only with a slice of pizza instead. I love the functionality, and the all round general good looks. But as @Cover says: And there comes a point where even I won't say "shut up and take my money."
Yes it is, as i said, a question of what you want to do with the mouse. For me personaly i needed a mouse with a crap ton of buttons on it, so i dropped the coin on it. You might want to check out http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/peripherie/ for some german prices and stuff...
This is the awesome mouse I use for my beast of a gaming machine http://www.amazon.com/Dynex-DX-NPWLMSE-Wireless-Optical-Mouse/dp/B005M6UCSC
Wireless increases lag from your mouse to your PC. If you're gonna be a progamer, you're gonna have a bad time with a wireless mouse.
Don't bother with Razor, especially a wireless one. Logitech is indeed the best way to go for a quality wireless mouse.
Ahh thank you! That is indeed the sort of list I was after. I want to get something with a crap ton of buttons. I don't like throwing away things that are still in perfectly good order. So I always buy things seriously surplus to requirement. I can't predict what I'll need a year from now. I'll check that out. Thanks! I LoLed at the thought of me being a "progamer". What a notion! I am, in all seriousness, a well-meaning noob. And I have been since forever. I lack the coordination and spatial awareness for anything serious. Though cutting out is an issue. I had a wireless keyboard once that did that and I could have hurled it out the window it was so crap. So I would like to avoid that with a mouse. The thing is I have a laptop (I call him Sherman, because he is a tank) and I think wired devices look silly with a laptop, and I already have a head set and a webcam making my desk look like an explosion in a spaghetti factory.
I see my bad influence is growing strong with you.......... Spend all your moneyzzzz muahahaha j/k Sadly mouses with lots of buttons on it are kind of pricy. Just let me tell you that the Naga is over kill! On the other hand they cost like 20 Euros more compared to other gaming mouses. Just stop buying unnecesary crap on the way from and to work for a month and you will have saved up enough. Atleast that is what i did.
I mean the signal kept dropping, so I would be typing normally and random letters wouldn't register. And I don't mean I was being an idiot and not pressing those keys!
Unless you're into like MLG gaming or programming I'd get a really cheap one. But even then that never spend more than 30 dollars or you're almost definitely getting ripped off.
I actually have a proper gaming mouse because it was the only good left-handed mouse I could find. It's the Razor deathadder. It's wired and incredibly smooth, definately worth the money in my opinion. It's hard to go back to a generic mouse after that.
The problem with cheap mouses really comes appearant if you play on a big screen. For smaller pc-monitors i bet you will not notice a hughe difference, but if you play on a big screen it's awfull with a low dpi mouse.
