An idiot plot is "any plot containing problems which would be solved instantly if all the characters were not idiots". There are several tv shows and movies that feature plots and characters that have idiot plots and they are often called out o them, but some directors would have an exscuse for their idiot plot by claiming that the reason for their badly written movie/tv show is that they had made it bad on purpose so that its campness factor would put it into the "so bad its good" category.

But what I ask is, should a movie/tv show be forgiven for having an idiot plot as long as it can still be enjoyed for its "campness" factor? Or should the concept of creatig a bad movie on purpose (or at first unintentionaly) be seen as an exscuse for getting away with creating a movie/tv show with as little work as possible?
