If they Soviets were the Victors in the Cold War

How would Communism work in the 21st Century?, Would America be divided into states in the same manner that the Soviet Union was divided?, and being an atheist nation would many religious nations choose not to give in to the Soviet influence? What else would be different in this world if the Soviets were triumphant?

The USA would not have to become communist or fall apart for the Soviet Union to have won the Cold War.

I don't think anybody "won" the cold war, there was no war, primarily, the war was psychological, builting IBM's, but no warfare. The same goes for the American civil war, so much death, and the biggest turnout of it was to stop Africans from being used as slaves.

I don't think anybody "won" there. Now, they're stuck with these giant missiles that are difficult to dispose of because of it's refined Uranium, and other products.

The soviet union did not want to fight the cold war they even wanted to join NATO when it was first formed. All they needed for victory was for the west to stop wanting to fight it.

I'm pretty sure Stalinism would of been the transition in the American system. Have it America, have the more authoritarian side of communism!

I don't consider the United States of America victors in the Cold War, it was ultimately the collapse of another system which doesn't mean capitalism or democracy prevailed. If it was vice versa, i wouldn't view the American collapse a victory for socialism, nor would i say capitalism is a big failure, thus the system is no more, it would of (like socialism) taken a big blow.

The Soviet Union would of still been here if the American system collaspsed, and most certainly the Cold War would of ended.

Overall, it would of been a better world.

In my opinion the US didn't win, the USSR simply destroyed itself from the inside. If there was no Yeltsin or no glasnost things may have been different.

Well as I understood the Cold war in the military confrontations Soviets proved to be better than the Americans that is why they chose the economical way of wining the war,because soviet soldiers were far more experienced in combat than american.

If your enemy is destroyed by YOU you win. Soviets destroyed themselves. The US wasn't going to win all by itself.

Well the US is the only one of the two left standing so they won. If you are boxing and you opponent just all of a sudden collapses to the ground without you doing anything, does that not mean that you won the fight?

No, it means you couldn't win and you the enemy simply forfeits.
