So the mighty Imperium of man squares off in a galaxy-wide war with the Galactic Empire from star wars (No other factions just them). Who would win? My money is obviously on the Imperium, whats yours on?

I don't know much about Warhammer, but I do know that the Empire's main forces are the Storm Troopers. Which are about as accurate and skilled as a 2 year old would be... Plus they lost to the rebels.

There's already 3 Warhammer threads up, not counting the Spehs Marines ones.

I assume that we would use the EU canon in this.

The Imperium's weaponry is greater in power on adverage and they are not afraid to use it. Addtionally, they, being in a constant state of war, posess entire planets devoted solely to the task of creating the materials [i.e. warships, advanced weaponry, etc.] to wage war. They also have the million+ worlds, some of which are hive worlds which can produce entire armadas and the soldiers and sailors to man them. The real drawback is that Imperium travel is marginally slower than the GE, though the concept is the same.

The Imperium simply because the Warhammer Universe is bigger and thus they have more worlds + people.

this close one but I will hav to say GE simply bcaus it seems they hav Control Over Space(unless u culd provide me some stats for IoM Ships) and well Control Over Space>Control Over Ground, that and what I hear is that IoM is terribly slow at making coordinated attacks or counter attacks, but correct me if im wrong.

The Imperium is commonly depicted on land, but that does not mean that they do not have a significant space arsenal. The standard-issue ship, the Retribution-class, is armed with Cyclone-class torpedos capible of delivering an Exterminatus on any planet that the Imperium gets tired of seeing. And the Cyclone-class torpedos used to deliver the Exterminatus are also loaded on some smaller standard vessels, though these vessels do not individually posess enough to commit an Exterminatus on their own.

The Empire has 1 ship that can perform it's own version of exterminatus. However the stinking vent has no form of protection.

    @ the vent thing.

Actually, there are plenty of GE ships in the EU capible of Exterminatus-class destruction. The Star Destroyers, though it is never shown in the films, can individually preform orbital glassings on planets. Likewise, the SSDs, the Super Star Destroyers can also bombard planets into inhospitality. There are also an array of crazy super-weapons like the massive missle launcher [forgot its name] that the Emperor Reborn built in the Byss system [I think]. It was capible of cross-galactic destruction. And later destroyed.

Note: I included the EU on 2 grounds:
    1. I believe it to be canon with the movie. At least, parts of it.
    2. It would hardly be a fair fight or an interesting debate without it.

Both emperors are old, one of them is technically dead, the other is still alive because of the dark side.

also note that space marines are in small numbers so storm troopers probobly evenly matched vs imperial guard
