So the Bible says that Jesus said that God said treat everyone the sameway as you would like them to treat you. But can anyone tell me why the church says that same sex marriage is evil?. If you would like so, I could tell you more things about the church that I think are wierd.
Same sex marriage is treated somewhat like being a lustful person in the Church. Yes, you were born gay or lustful. But at the same time that doesn't justify having gay sex or banging everything with two legs. It is treated as an imperfection in the person that they should attempt to control as best they can. A few even still stick to the claim that gays choose to be gay and thus sinning as if they were choosing to steal or commit murder. If by "weird" you mean things like being against contraception and abortion, then no, those aren't weird. Actually they have very well thought out philosophical backgrounds.
I'm not sure whether your thread title quite matches what you're saying, but both topics (homosexuality and whether God is truly 'good' or not) are worth talking about. As regards Jesus' comment that you mentioned, I guess it's a case of picking and choosing what you agree with. If you believe homosexuality to be a sin, then Jesus' words would suggest you preach at them or something. After all, wouldn't you want to be saved from sin? Of course, that's an incredibly annoying way to spread the word of God.

We can argue the differences in morality between mortals and immortals all day. I find it doesn't matter.
No man, you see, since god is a trinity, which means that he is divided into three parts, the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, it means that God impregnated his virgin mother so she wold give birth to himself, just so that he could die for everybodies sins and rise again and ascend to heaven as the ghost/zombie, so that someday he may return to save us by killing us all. Also he's Jewish.

An atheist speaking here who's trying to remember something that he heard somewhere: The bible doesn't directly say that homosexuality is evil. It's from the story about sodom and gomorra, they did something to offend god (I don't know what) and because of that god made all of them homosexual. So it implies it's evil but I guess you can argue about it. But anyway, I have no idea if this is correct.
The Bible encourages stoning gay people to death for being gay. So yeah I'd say it's pretty clear what the Bible thinks about homosexuality.
