Is innovation possible without failing first? I say no, because I think you have to understand what went wrong to figure out how to make it right.
Some of the greatest inventions, innovations and discoveries were the result of mistakes, wars and random crazyness.
I think this quote applies "I never did anything by accident, nor did any of my inventions come by accident; they came by work." -Thomas Edison
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas Edison Also to answer the question no, you need to fail to see how things don't work, so you can figure out how things do work.
I wouldn't say it's impossible to do something innovative without failing, it's just that most of the time people make mistakes before they get it right.
All you guys are simply saying baseless conjecture. In my experience, I have never ever failed at anything. Even things I have failed at, I have succeeded. That's how nonexistent my failure is. Based on this hard data I have presented, no, you don't have to fail to innovate.
