Kony 2012- Epic Failure?

So... with every passing day I see the Kony 2012 campaign lose more and more supporters.
I thought it was a noble cause and I didn't consider it a scam at all... but there are alot of people saying its a scam and alot of sonspiracy theory's and rising up.

Um, yes it has. It has fizzled out to almost nothing.

Most people have stopped supporting it at this point. While its cause may be great, most have found flaws within the charity itself, that and no one else in the world supports it.

Aren't they supposed to have a big thing overnight tonight where they like put KONY 2012 posters everywhere and go on this big march?

Oh. And here I thought it was on April 3rd... They are probably wishing they made it earlier, so by the time it came around, the movement wouldn't be completely dead in the water.

everyone you are forgetting what this campaign was made to do, it was made to raise awareness on who Joseph Kony is. and as far as i can tell there isn't a person i know who doesn't know that name that's why i think it was a success.

Yes. They totally raised awareness about some old fuck who, at the present moment, is being slowly and painfully killed by dysentery in some remote Congolese jungle.
What a fucking spectacular victory for humanitarians everywhere.

Of course it failed. I called this from day one. People would watch the video and comment on it while feeling and undue sense of accomplishment. This is the case with most internet campaigns. On the other hand it succeeded in the sense that it's continued peoples support for useless wars in the name of humanitarianism. Kinda like in 1984 where "war is peace". Instead of focusing on real enemies it turns the focus towards some African warlord with zero influence on anyone outside of Uganda.

I would say yes, it failed for the most part. I really don't know anyone that suports it anymore, but I still wonder if people are going to put posters everywhere on the 20th or whatever day it is?

I'd also like to add that the idiot who started this campaign has been proven to be a psychotic. This didn't help the campaign.

I would say it has fallen flat on its face, after a admittingly strong start.

This is what I do not get about America-

2008- OMG THIS WAR NEEDS TO BE OVER! WE ARE LOSING WAR IN IRAQ! SUPER MOOSLAMS ARE WINNING! ZOMG!

2012- Yeah! Lets send over our troops to kill Joseph Kony! He is an extremly minor threat to America!

What the fuck are you talking about? Thus movement was popular in teens, whilst Iraq was a universal problem.

Well I considered Joseph Kony to be a universal problem also because it showed videos of people in Austrilla and Germany at one point in the movie. Well I guess that shows me to listen to a blonde blue eyed white person interested in the common good of the wo- wait a minute....

It gave rise to some funny pictures on the internet, so yes I would say it was a great success. If it made a million people laugh at a black African child telling Kony to "fuck off bitch" then it should be. Plus, it helped me waste 30 minutes of my life whilst making me feel good. What's not to love?

Yes it failed. I agree that they are doing it wrong, and that some of the finances seem weird. BUT, I disagree with the criticism that "helping Africans is not the white man's burden" Do you have any idea how bad that statement is? First, it is postulating that only whites live in the Western countries, which is absolutely untrue because we all know there are many non whites in the Western country. Yes, it is not the white man's burden, it is the rich mans burden to help the poor. We are all humans, we must all help each other.
