This is a topic that's been just scrambling in my brain ever since I decided to replay KoTOR, we all know that quote on quote 'Darth' Revan and Darth Malak came back from the Unknown regions after the Mandalorian Wars, Everyone assumed that Revan and Malak had turned to the dark side and became ruthless Sith, while this was true for Malak who was too weak to resist being consumed by the dark side, Revan was always the type of person to have a plan, when Malak and Revan went into the unknown regions of the galaxy they of course encountered the True Sith led by the Sith Emperor himself, The Sith Emperor gave them more power, while commanding them to weaken the Jedi/Republic for him, when he makes his eventual return, Revan and Malak complied but when coming back to known space decided to take the mantle of Lords of the Sith for themselves, Malak had become a true Sith(personality wise though he was always the weaker one when it came to power, most likely the weakest ancient Sith), however Revan really never fell to the Dark side, nor did he really ever change, he planned instead of creating the Star Forge to conquer the Galaxy, he planned to make the Star Forge to protect the galaxy against the True Sith(which I have no doubt it would've had his plan came to fruition), but the Jedi like always have to fuck up royally, sending a small Republic fleet along with a Jedi strike team gave Malak the perfect chance to betray his master, had the Republic nor Jedi never set a trap for the self proclaimed Sith Lords, what Would've happened? In my honest opinion Revan would have made the Star Forge, create endless fleets and droids, and the galaxy would've been protected by the galaxy from the true sith, instead the Jedi wiped away Revans identity(most of his memory came back but it would forever be damaged), and Revan destroyed the Star Forge, the space station he was going to use to protect the galaxy with in the first place! What happens next? Few years later, more of his memories come back, realizing he had to deal with the true sith because ya know the Star Forge the one thing that could've protected the galaxy was destroyed, he goes alone like an idiot with no allies whatsoever to the unknown regions(because for some reason he thought he could take on all of the True Sith and Emperor by himself..... lol!) what happens a couple years later? the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik, the galaxies only hope after Revan, decides to go into the Unknown Regions alone like an idiot too, now my next question is this: HOW THE HELL WOULD THROWING THEIR LIVES AWAY UNESSESARILY SERVE THE GALAXY ANY GOOD? IMO, it would've been a more efficient course of action, for Revan and Meetra Surik to stay in Known space, as they would be able to prepare the galaxy as much as possible for the return of the True Sith, instead they say 'fuck it' and foolishly abandon the Galaxy to fight the True Sith on their own. While they prolonged the invasion, it still happened.
I think this is explained somewhat in ToR, but as it's ToR, it's probably shit. Such a shame, Revan is one of my favourite characters in any video game ever. He's not as badass as HK-47, though.
