Lord's Resistance Army (LRA)

The LRA is a resitance force fighting in Africa in areas such as The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Northern Uganda, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic. It was started in 1987 and has a syncretic Christian ideology. They believe God will protect them and where tought to never retreat. Now they have resorted to killing civilians and forcing children to serve in the army. The UN has given the African countries affected the right to pursue the LRA freely.

I think they'll get on very well with Nigeria's Boko Haram.
Didn't think i'd ever say that people needed more nationalism, but all these awful African militias need more African nationalism (and less European and Asian religion).

Well there Christian so they can't be bad at....no fuck this assholes they are ruin even more of the African people's lifes and need to answer for there crimes.

As America is a powerful wealthy capitalist nation, countries in Africa have to deal with these things even though it could be argued they have more in the way of natural resources then America does. We must use our power, our money to go in there and sort these places out.

This. With no nationalism there's nothing holding the nations together. Some people were never even told what nation they belonged to. There's no glue to hold the people together.

Like the United States which were founded by English, Irish, German, French, Italian, Scandinavian, Japanese and so on? I find it hilarious when Americans talk about nationalism like that.

But they all came with the common goal of joining (or forming) America. Those who didn't want to be American didn't come or left. So they were, for the most part, "assimilated".

They didn't want to be "American." They wanted(mostly) to escape their oppressors/famines/poverty etc.
They were only partly assimilated(language) but they also held onto their own traditions.

Well they sure think they're American now. I'm gonna guess that the people of say, Central African Republic don't feel quite so attached.
