Anyone else watch this show? It is probably the only show I watch on TV and I must say it would be pretty bad ass to do the things he does.

I do like Man vs. Wild, though I hate the fakeness of it, cameramen following him around, misleading scenes, etc. I prefer the show Survivorman, it’s much more genuine compared to Man vs. Wild.

Yes survivor man is a much better show, he has to everything alone.

I have never seen this show, but I am pressuming it is something like Bear Grylls: Born Survivor.
If so then it is probably badass & can't be terrible

they could be the same show under different names, as it stars Bear Grylls. That said, Survivor man is superior. Man vs. Wild is fake as shit.

Yeah but they don't really pretend it's real like Survivor man. 3 things you want on a deserted island: bubblegum, paperclip, Bear Grylls

Even the panoramic-mile away- up and down a cliff shots? At least Bear Gryllis(mistake) doesn't pretend to be alone.

He leaves cameras to film it, then goes back to get them.

So by that logic he climbs a cliff and places a camera, walks a mile or two over an open plain, walks a mile or two back climbs back up the cliff gets the camera and climbs back down. How is he expected to survive.

Yes but how long does it take to get one shot then also worry about getting food, water, and shelter?

This is probably totally unrelated to survival.

I find Man vs Wild to be far superior to Survivorman for a few simple reasons...

(1). I don't actually expect to learn how to survive for a very extended period of time from just watching a tv show. In terms of pure entertainment value, Man vs Wild beats Survivorman hands down. All of the stuff they do is irrelevant because typically your supposed to just wait for help (which from what I have seen of the show...is what survivorman pretty much does.) on the flip side, bear has gone cave diving (with no equipment at all) for no discernible reason other than to teach you how to not die in a cave.

(2). I realize many people consider this making the show "fake" but Bear's team will move from one "interesting" location to the next. So if a flood breaks out and the water levels rise in a particular river, bear can head straight out there in a helicopter and show himself being tossed around like a rag doll in rushing water.

    This is baller...

(4). One skill I have certainly learned from bear, "rawft" building.

P.S.-I don't remember Survivorman entering the wild by standing on the wings of a bi plane, letting the bi plane doing a barrel roll until he is hanging from it (while the plane is upside down), and then letting go and executing a perfect parachute landing into the wastelands of Texas.

From what I gather, and from what I can barely remember from an episode I was paying half attention to 4 months ago, the guy from survivorman plans his shit out weeks in advance, so it is possible that they have a course planned out, and maybe even survey the area so that they know he can survive.

They're both TV shows, so they both have an element of planning. Bears already said that they do stunts for the hell of it, and that's what makes the show awesome.

I mean sky diving from an upside down biplane, lol
