I saw this on another site and it drew quite a bit of attention. I was wondering what direction it would take here.
Ming Dynasty would beat Greece without a doubt. There is simply no way the Greeks could stand up to that kind of absolutely massive manpower. Sure they did a lot of damage to the Persians but it was a bottle-neck and they still lost. The Ming were more advanced than the Persians and would more than likely just overwhelm them.
Ming Dyansty would win, the greeks can't stand up to that man power. Plus trying to get all the greeks to work together. As my western civilizations professor pointed out the Greeks loved to sell out there fellow Greeks.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ming_Dynasty http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Greece lol, best matchup ever. next we should do Spetznas VS Musketeers.
I was about to do what Rom just did, but I don't have to. How's about we change this topic to Ancient Greece v. Zhou Dynasty? And let's make it equally sized armies for both civilizations fighting each other on even grounds. Yeah, that's interesting.
Going back to my idea, I'd think that the Greeks would win against the Zhou, if only because of their phalanx formation.
The Greeks would unite under crisis. They would again fight in bottle necks and at sea, and to be honest, I think in a realistic war scenario with the logistics and morale and all that jazz, if the Ming ever fought the ancient Greeks, I think the Greeks would lose the battles but win the war.
The Ming, of course, the Ming are simply larger and several thousand years more technologically updated than the Greeks. If the Greeks fought the Ming 1v1 the Greeks could well win, but we all know the Chinese nation never wants a fair fight.
but why are we using the ming dynasty, who were several thousand years ahead of greeks, and plus the greeks where divided city states. It's like if we said who would win, The British empire or the assyrian empire, it's just not a fair matchup. How about the han dynasty vs the roman empire.
If someone's invading your country and you know they are coming and there are only certain bottlenecks the enemy can pass through, I am pretty sure you are fighting on your terms.
Jesus Christ brah, what the hell makes you think that the Ming are the ones invading Greece? Or that anybody is invading anybody, it should be two armies of equal size from the two cultures, meeting on an even field. And preferably not the Ming Dynasty, as they are a whole century and a half in the future, possessing such things as gunpowder in the forms of muskets, rockets, and bombs, and advanced metal armor and weapons, and other advanced technology such as the repeating crossbow. It would be no contest, which is why a Zhou army is preferable.
