Mods abusing Locking

I think we need to deal with Mods breaking their own rules.

For example, recently the, "Goodbye, Losers!" thread was locked. However Chelsea took it upon on her own to leave a massive hate comment against Soviet.

Stalin is going through a very hard time and this forum and site is all he cares about atm, what happened to "let's make this forum a utopia", eh Soviet, ya know in the best wishes for Stalin thread? I've lost any respect for you that I had, pulling this at this time, causing this drama when Stalin needs it the least. You're so back and forth I will be surprised if anyone takes you serious anymore other than Pedro. Locking to prevent further rule breakings, if you desire to leave then just go but don't expect people to have much respect for you after this.[/spoiler:2jknc29v]

It is rediculous that mods should be able to get a last word, especially a last word that bashing someone personally, in a locked thread that cannot be responded to by anyone.

Obviously I'm fine with a little clarification, but I don't want to post this thread and then 5 pages later have it locked for a bullshit reason and bitched out by some mod.

Just leave it be. There is no corruption in the Moderating team. And the reason it was locked, if you look in the thread, was because there were multiple instances of users spamming, flaming, and insulting. The Mods have strict rules they have to play by, and every issue, such as this is thoroughly debated in the modding corner.

Did you read the whole thread? It was locked because there was rule breaking level insults flying constantly from both sides, almost every post. No reason to leave a thread like that open. But to cause this drama at THIS time while Stalin is in such shape, I will not put up with that. Nowhere in that post did I break the rules. Also Noel locked it before me, no reason for a lock eh? Why would 2 mods do it? This is very like you however, so I am hardly surprised to see this thread.

Your emotional appeals do not matter. Noel overstepped his bounds, just like he always does when he makes an independent decision. A mod had already dealt with it. In addition, you came in and posted even though the thread was already closed, just to insult Soviet. I've said this before. If you want to cry, bitch, and moan at people, you'll have to quit being a mod first.

When did I say there was Corruption in this thread?

Mods shouldn't get into personal arguments. It is unprofessional and affects their decision making.

Of course there are problems, there will always be problems. This one will improve, in time, as Stalin fixes things for himself.

Anyway, this one is easy to fix. Just infract people who post in locked threads with things that aren't like, "I locked the thread" and "this is why it was locked: [list here]". It's not some extremly difficult concept.

I have never, ever let it affect my decision making. But you guys obviously can not see that. No that isn't an insult, you can't see that I have always tried to be fair when dealing with staff issues, despite my personal feelings of that person. Even if I hated someone's guts, I would still treat a staff case involving them the same as any other.

I'm gonna let this one play out a bit, at least till some of the other mods (Specifically Pedro.) and Coax contribute their input into the situation.

Kara, we are all Humans. If you compare the amount of shit-talking that the average user gets away with, with the amount of slip-ups the mods make, you would probably be at something like 100-1.

Yes, Chelsea is a Mod. But like all of the other mods, she is a Human, and a member of our community. Maybe she did make a mistake. But it is her right as both a Human, and a member of our community to do that. And it is our responsibility, out of sheer human decency, to forgive her, should that be the case.

OT: On top of Pedro's input, I'd also like too know Noel's reason for locking the thread after Pedro dropped his warning and even got the instigating parties to stop.

Locking that thread was what Pedro should have done. Not leave it open for someone to say something else infractable. There was absolutely no reason to leave it open, considering the entire content of the thread.

Pedro is the best mod.
