They are good. I wrote this up a long time ago on another forum and have since lost the sources :?
But I saw someone talk about Nuclear power plants in another topic and decided to post this for whatever reason. If you are against Nuke Plants, you shouldn't be after this.

They are superior in every way, shape, and form to all other types of power. And safer, too.
The only real problems are the cost(expensive) and where to put nuclear waste(which isn't a whole lot worse than toxic waste from other plants.)

People are paranoid and think, "ZOMG NUCLEAR?!?!?"
When in reality you are more likely to be killed by a malfunctioning wind turbine then a malfunctioning nuclear plant.
In preperation, I can counter your arguments:

"But what about Chernobyl, it malfunctioned, and now nobody can live there!"
Well, yes, but the United Nations investigated and concluded that it could have been easily prevented, the russians were just cheap about it.

"And what about Three Mile Island?"
Nobody died. The amount of radiation was less than what you get from an X-Ray.

"What about the enormous heat pollution?"
    Newer plants have cooling stations.

    "Isn't Uranium mining dangerous?"
Not as dangerous as Coal mining.

    "What about renewable energy?"
They don't produce as much energy and only work with the right conditions (ie sunlight or wind).

"But what if terrorists got control of them?"
That is extremely unlikely. And besides, what would they do, turn it off? You can't make Nuclear Bombs in a Nuclear Power Plants.

"What about nuclear waste, huh, HUH?"
Modern Plants reprocess waste into more fuel.

"What about the one in Japan?"
It was built on a fault line... who's idea was that?

Any more arguments, do you disagree? Hit me with your best shot.

Bang-up job. As far as I can tell this is airtight. People who are against Nuclear are just ideologues with no common sense.

    Why not?

Also, even if we can't get rid of the waste, we can probably just pay one of those loser African countries to take it. We could turn the Congo into our own personal garbage bin.

You do realize it's usually disposed in specified areas in radiation proof facilities.

We could do that, or we could dump it in the Congo for a lot less.

Well, the first part was kind of humerous. Not the second part though.

    I am deeply offended. :(

Fun fact, DR Congo has more natural resources than any other country in the world. In fact, top economists suspect that if they could tap into all of them and develop their economy, they would be richer than the combined economies of the United States and Europe. Too bad about the Civil war, AIDS, and the corruption, or else they would be a world superpower.

Meh, other living things besides people don't matter. I'd rather have a bigger GDP than a useless variety of pigion.

People sure, whatever. It's the Congo's fault for turning their country into a radioactive dump, theoretically.
Besides, it's a big Congo. They can just dig a hole in the rain forest or something.

Man, Belgium must be hitting their faces against the wall for letting them go.

Actually I think China and Canada beat them in proven resources. If they are there why haven`t international countries started mining there.

Because of the Civil War, AIDS, and Corruption, probably.

I mean, when's the last time Canada had a bloody Civil War that destroyed the economy?

If your offended by the fact that someone called you disgusting because you advocate the dumping of radioactive material on the less fortunate simply because it is cheap, you are going to be offended a lot in your life.

    Jesus Christ...

That still wouldn't stop international companies as they are usually the ones backing these wars.

Meh, they'd get paid for it a little.
Maybe they wouldn't be one of the lowest GDPs in the world anymore.

Also, I didn't like Pigions anyway. I mean, now who will poop all over the Plaza and eat my sandwich while I'm in the bathroom?

Yes, because funneling small amounts of cash into a dictatorship so we can dump our waste right beside already struggling people is a good idea.

Also, I know you couldn't give two shits about environmentalism, but you should know we aren't trying to save pigeons. Or at least know how to spell pigeon.
