The sick man of Europe.

They weren't european they just conquered the balkans and that's it.

I think they had a great army but not much else.

Probably the best and biggest army of the 16th century and their navy was at best, big and scary but not enough to fight against Venice. Their religious tolerance was a nice concept as well, however they were slow to embrace new ideas and later found themselves wanting on the area of technology, be it on administration or militarily, they were backwards on the 18th century and onwards.

Even today their successors (read Turkey), are trying to be a part of Europe.

True, and the Turks didn't even originate from Asia Minor...

Turkey is still trying to be a part of the European union, and from the Asian countries, they're the least "Asian". They do originate from Central Asia though.

Turkey doesn't need the EU and the EU doesn't Turkey...

Just like Brazil doesn't need to be friends with Iran, but Lula tried to anyway, however he's an asshole and isn't in power anymore, fortunately.

Indiferent, she's doing much better than Lula on managing the economy though, however corruption is still a big problem on brazilian politicians.

Terrible at everything. I don't know how they managed to exist up to WW1, they were just lucky at everything, except the Siege of Vienna. They just kind of loomed around for 300 years. Their army wasn't as good as people seem to think, the Europeans were always one step ahead.

Toast is right. They sucked everywhere. They only got as far as they did by overwhelming people back in the Middle Ages. Oh big whoop, they beat Montenegro and Albania. They lasted as long as they did only because the UK and France wanted them to exist. They wanted a counter-balance to Russia in the Middle East, hint, Crimean War.

As soon as they stopped being useful to the Allies, they were conquered. They got lucky from the start, then got even more lucky until about 1800 when they became a large pawn in the Great Game.

Compared to literally everywhere else, we're pretty good. At least it's not like Russia where you just slip a three thousand dollars and you can peddle all the dope you want.
