As I visit the website I see that we have switched to the black background one to the default. If you want to bring more viewers and fans we need to switch back to the white as the default. I know what I am saying when, In marketing, Business, professionality, and color scheme I can tell that black and red do not go together to attarct the average joe. You can see the black is like a huge turn off when mixing black, If you want the black color scheme you must change the red into something else to balance the format. When I look at the black I find a huge turn off and people I introduce the site to, they state a white background would match the red making it "user friendly". Also some people agree me about this change, well I acknowelge the oppsition about black is cool to them and what not, but sadly that is not the case, we want website thirve to benefit Josefvstalin to make this himself, the site has to be light for casual viewer. The people complaining that white has the "intense" brightness but the solution to that is lower the brightness on your monitor/screen. Remember this is for the site not for my personal preference its for the good of the cause. I should thank everybody for reading this and I hope the oppsition won't be to serious about this >.> Anyway vote yes and change willl happen!

Talks about more appealing colors, uses this color that is so ugly it makes your eyes puke, which incidentally is the same color.

Your whole post is based on the assumption that we are trying to attract people.
While this forums could use some more active new blood, the truth is that the current crop is not too shabby.
And for that matter, if you are going to pick at astetics, there are alot more things that can be done than just change the color of the main page.
To start with, the site is named 'josefvstalin.com'. Now, what do you imagine when you think of that name? When I told a number of my associates about it, they immediately thought that it was some sort of socialist/leftist/extreme left site writhing with political debate. The truth is that the site is, at its core, a gaming site.
For that matter, if people like the games, they will come. The color scheme is not so big a factor as to make them run away.
Also consider that we already have alot of 'average joes'. They are called the some 6,561 inactive members of the site. I can guarentee you that it was not the color scheme that drove away even 1% of those people.
Lastly, consider that we want to foster a comprehesive, complex-minded political section.

While I support having new members on the site, I really doubt that changing the color scheme will accomplish much. Even if it does attract people, we aren't selling a product; we are looking for active members. They will probably leave, further dragging down the active-to-inactive ratio. Therefore, the changing of the color scheme is unnecessary.

Also, the white screen was changed for a reason. It was hideous.

Well no I don't actually. I like the current default background. If someone doesn't like it they can easily change it if they sign up. And no, I don't think telling people to adjust their brightness settings just for this site if they are complaining is going to bring in more users.

It's all about not double posting. Also like Impy said the white background was hideous and a horrible first impression if color schemes are all you care about.

It was a world war two joke, in reference to the Nanjing massacre. Kinda of offensive, but I just couldn't let the opportunity pass by.

I think there is sense in what you are saying. I wouldn't really have a problem with changing the default scheme back to white, though if we do, we should definitely leave some instructions somewhere visible.

Oh that,I knew what you were trying to say but I tend not bother with bad history, thoese Japanese in the 1930s killing my fellow chinese people, but that was the past and we live in the present. We can not blame the people in the past.

It's always a good thing when somebody can take a joke like that in stride. I respect you for that. In all fairness though, our side (The Allies) did some pretty bad things too. As you said though, that was all in the past, and we shouldn't blame each other for the crimes of our ancestors.
