Well the sequels were really shitty, but maybe the remake should be directed by someone who isn't an idiot. Then it would be good as the original.
Nah, I think it would probably end up crappy. The original movie was awesome but I just dunno about a remake of it.
There's absolutely no point in remaking Starship Troopers. The original is perfectly fine in all of its campy glory.
I love this movie. I didn't mind the actors in it. If they were to remake it. They should bring back the same actors from before. Starship Troopers 1 was the best one. The other two were rated really badly.
Never seen the sequals but that film is absolutely fantastic and making a remake would make no sense what soever, it was only made in 1997 and the special effects were actually pretty good.
Heinlein never said the book was about fascism, the movie mis-represents the whole Federation as a pseudo-nazi regime In the book there is freedom of speech, press, conscience, it is a multi-racial and religious political system and army. Service for the army is completely voluntary, with the vast majority of people encouraged to not sign up for service. The main difference being that only after serving a term in the military do you become a citizen and given the right to vote. Militarism is glorified, but the society is functioning during a period of total war with an enemy who shows no signs of communicating or reaching any compromise.
Loved both the movie and the book. No point to remaking it. As they say in 'merica: 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.' Never saw the sequels, but I heard they were awful and the summeries on Wikipedia don't do anything to discredit that notion. Nor do the newsreels on Youtube. Besides, how are we going to get Basil Poledouris to do the music again? It just won't be the same without him... For those who have no idea what I am talking about: [yt:11vxil17]CIGHCoVzqtk[/yt:11vxil17]
Ha ha ha... No. No it couldn't. There is no need for a remake and odds are 99% that they would butcher it, besides the sequels were all shit. The very awesome Starship Troopers 1 is where they should have stopped.
I saw potential, In all of those movies, With a bigger budget and newer technology, Going back to the Mobile Infantry, "Could Be Good"
Na, its fine as it is, just look at all these other crap remakes thats been coming out, last thing they need to do is ruin that aswell...
