    Top 10 armies(IMO)

    1. Sparta

    2. Rome

    3. Parthia(the only nation to ever give the Romans a run for their money)

    4. Carthage(even though they were all Mercenaries, they were some of the most skilled Mercenaries the world had ever seen)

    5. The Huns(Do I really have to explain why?)

    6. Mongols(Medeival version of the Huns)

    7. Grand Armee(France)

    8. The Red army(I'm guessing most of you know what the Red army reperesents)

    9. The Wehrmacht (though they killed 6 millions innocent Jews out of mindless hate they made a formitable force)

    10. Persia(on the contrary to what the movie 300 reperesented them as, The Persian Army was actually one of the strongest forces the world has ever seen, their horse archers were some of the best, not to mention heavy Cavalry, unfortunately their infantry was not the best, but you don't need good infantry to win a battle)

In that list I would take out Carthage and put the Chinese army from the 5th century BCE. (you know, under Sun Tzu's leadeship)

haha took me a little while to figure out what you were talking about. I know it as the French And Indian War. alls i read was: "William Pitt's saying that "America was won in Germany referred to the Prussian war effort, which enabled Great Britain to keep her continental commitment limited and focus on her "blue water policy," successfully establishing naval supremacy." on wikipedia.

If you want the link here.

    Sounds Totally bad ass though.

The Seven Years War was when the Prussians took their place as one the military superpowers of Europe, but by that link I guess you already know that now.

The Wehrmacht was very advanced for its time
First assault rifle the MP44 (Inspiration for the AK-47)
First use of Airbourne infantry the Fallschirmjagers
The first submarine that was designed to operate almost entirely submerged (its speed was faster submerged than it was surfaced which made convoy pursuits easier with no risk of being spotted) and an inspiration for modern submarines the Type XXI
the first jet fighter the ME-262 and several others
the first types of ballistic and cruise missiles the V-1 Buzzbomb and V-2 Ballistic missile
    And possibly UFO type aircraft
