    Well since today is Bastille day, I thought we could celebrate it by talking about the revolution. I for one am glad for the revolution and hope the we can continue to look upon this day with happiness. So discuss away. Also we're talking about the 1st Revolution.

    ^ I second that but the french revolution is one of the most important historical events in all human history without the French revolution the world as we know it would be very different to imagine at least when thinking on a political or philosiphical level

    I concur. While indeed an important historical event, and one that should always be remembered, we must look at what the destruction of the Bastille caused: the deaths of hundreds of thousands.

    I tried writing a report on the histories of France during the 1800s, I raged after I realized I was on page 20 and was still on the monarchy.

    Well it depends, if those thousands of people died for a good cause, or if they died on what they believed it isn't much of a problem, unlike the the death of the thousands of people in the Terror of RobespiƩrre.
