The Ottoman Empire were pretty bad ass during their golden age (can't remember the exact dates off the top of my head but probably around 1500-1700) This was when they had their giant bombards and cannons, thriving trade, janissaries, one of the strongest armies of the world, and arguably the most successful Muslim nation in history. I believe their territory reached from egypt, to yugoslavia, to georgia, to India. A 3 continent empire. They can be compared to the Roman Empire. Anyways, lets just talk about them for a while!

Well their fall had to be after the Battle of Lepanto in the central Mediterranean and the Siege of Vienna, both of which were Ottoman losses. It showed their limitations on how far they could go, and were subsequently contained within the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans in Europe.

The Romans would never have stored their ammunition in the Parthenon. Or maybe they would have.

Ya, those guys were great. Ending one of the greatest Empires of all time because they were able to bleed it dry, destroying some poor and worthless states in the Balkans, then threatening to destroy Catholicism (my religion) forever by attempting a landing in Italy.

    Just total bros.

That shows that they were amazing, and by the way they also conquered the Seljuks before the Byzantines, I believe.
The Romans also defeated many poor and worthless states. That doesn't take away from the fact that the Ottomans beat the Byzantines :p
Well, they were good enough to land weren't they? Just cause its your religion doesn't mean you have to care about that today.

Seriously, they were brosephs by trying to purge the world of a religion that has seemingly been hell bent on destroying all other religions.

And it wouldn't have "purged the world of it". Because by this time Christianity had taken hold in much of Europe.

What does take away from it is the Fourth Crusade, which I like to bring up every time this topic is mentioned. I suspect some conspiracy theorist types would use this to blame the Catholic Church for the fall of the Greek Orthodox world.
To be honest, I think that maybe the Orthodox Church should have been included in 'Christendom', even if only to serve as a bulwark against the east. They wouldn't even have had to co-operate, just say, not fight each other.

They did cooperate though. The whole reason the first crusade came about was specifically to help the Byzantines.

Well duh, you know that if you want to be close to god, you have to be rich, and give about all that money to the Pope. Just if you want to be close with god, so you know its for a good cause (not).

What? Janniseries were one of the Ottoman's most evil things.
They just robbed other nation's children and brainwashed them to kill their own people.

In the 1600's the ottoman empire fought against the knights of st John in America. They eventually teamed up against the remnants of the knights Templar as they were going to abuse the fountain of youth to achieve their goals of world domination. After stopping the evil Templars the ottomans sailed back home, and the knights of st John stayed to protect the ruins of the fountain of youth.

well according to "age of empires 3" anyways...

They were still bad ass fighters. You've got to give the Ottomans that, they knew how to create crack troops.

Well, it was a good strategy for trade. The British Empire also spread Opium around the world.

The Mongols destroyed the Seljuks, fracturing them into several smaller states. The Ottoman state hoovered them all up after the Mongols disappeared from the scene.

The Ottomans beat a burnt-out shell that had been the Byzantine Empire. Byzantium's destruction was caused by three events: the Pyrrhic victory over the Sassanids, Manzikert, and the Fourth Crusade.

Is there a religion more genocidal in history than Roman Catholocism?
