Okay the only two main rules are make this more like a book and know your knowledge...

Jostalin wasn't a major planet and laid on the edge of the imperium's reach. It didn't recieve much attention for it was only useful for the metal it produced. Sevety five percent was woodland, 20% mountains and the rest was ocean. There was no hive city, no military base, not even a major population. Yet something stired beneath the planet, an energy, one of unknown limit. It was only until now did imperium find the true might of the planet...

The day had only began and the forrest outside the small encampment of Lenscow was silent. Many of the young privates were fast asleep, with the servitors working on the new mining operation. The leman russes awaited their masters to return to them for a new fight they were waiting for.

About 100 kilometers away, three large figures speed over the trees. The roaring of their engines interrupted the peaceful sight. As if in answer to the new noise, the tree tops emitted a bright red light hitting the backside of one of the figures bringing it down in a ball of fire. Then another bright red light was fired and another. The two shadows dodged left and right to avoid the shots. Then a fast sharp object joined the red lasers and hit the second figure. This time it exploded and the debris of the bird-like machine fell back to the surface of the planet.

"There firing all they've got now!"

Cpt. Phillips stood behind the pilot as the pilot tried to manauver past the death coming from beneath them. The Valkyrie squadran was only doing a routine check of the planet and was suppose to be the wake up call of the men back at base. The co-pilot head flew back and disappeared in burst of red blood.

"Snipers! Sir, I recommend you prepare for a crash landing."

Cpt. Phillips turned around to a group of his veteran guardsmen. They had seen much action with him and he had done the same with them. He sat down in his seat and strapped himself in watching their faces. They held no fear or pain, only trust and loyality to their captain. A blast came from the rear of the cabin and he felt as if he was falling. Then the lights went out.

The valkyrie's tail burned as it submerged into the green sea of leaves, only 40 kilometers from the camp. The Captain's fate was unknown and the battle of this untold energy had began.

Not far from Jostalin lay a military outpost on the far edge of the Segmentum Extremis. The base spanned miles, bristling with auto-defense turrets and housing a massive planetary defense battery. The sounds of troops marching in tight formation filled the morning air, as General Alexander read the latest reports. "Three more lost," he said coldly gazing at those assembled before him. His aide-de-campe sat behind him while in front of him there were a member of the planet's local Ecllesiarchy and Adept Ultis of the Mechanicum of Mars, as well as assembled military leaders. "We have lost multiple scout forces already on a planet not meant to be inhabited by any intellegent species, so why have none of you been able to account for it?"
Adept Ultis emitted a strange burst from the metal voice unit that made up the lower half of his face, the rest housing a host of fine circuits and three glowing cybernetic eyes. "As I said, the Mechanicum can spare no more forces than are already present on this planet and these troops are poorly equipped for such an assignment."
