I'm completely neutral on this topic, but I was wondering what all of you think about the status of Puerto Rico? Should be it become a state? Remain a commonwealth? Become independent? Create a Free Association? Or something else? There will be a referendum this November that asks this question. If there's any Stalinator fans from Puerto Rico, or have family ties to there, it would be interesting to know what you think.
I have to, but seeing as though Im kicked out of school for "Suicidal" thoughts, I could care less now. Although I should take advantage of this and work on it.
Hot damn. Well, I hope your school will have second thoughts soon enough. And learning Spanish is pretty cool. I liked it, even if I can't roll my Rs for the life of me.
I can't do Spanish to save my life, also everyone in Spanish class hates me cause I dress up like Castro all the time.
A very low percent, like 5% of the population, want to be independent. Apparently there is great benefits to being a commonwealth under a superpower. They don't vote in the federal government, but they get to vote on local issues.
I'm pretty sure that maintenance of the status quo has been the most popular choice for a good long while now.
Not really alot of them want to be a state at this current time, the party who represents this did very well the last elections.
I just did a little research on the last referendum held in 1998. These were the results: Statehood - 46.6% Independence - 2.6% Free Association - 0.3% Territorial Commonwealth - 0% None of the above (status quo) - 50.5%
