So your argument is "That's just the way it is, so we should do it." Well the developers need money for the games they create, because they rely on us buying the games, but you are one of the heaviest advocates of piracy on the site. I smell a double standard
I see no reason to tip a waiter/waitress, unless you are doing it purely to show your clemency. Other than that reason I really see no other reason on why to tip said recipitent.
Forgive me if it wasn't clear that table servers making less than minimum need money more than large game corporations. Anyway, tipping isn't mandatory, so fell free not to, but also feel free to get really shitty service.
Just to all non-Americans, try taking one common courtesy from your country and attempt to remove it in your mind. Most likely you have no problem with it and just see people who do not follow it as rude.
"Tipping" is implied and conditioned unto us, as to make us feel bad if don't tip someone, just because the food industry are cheapskates and not paying their waiting staff the necessary amount to live... also it's a somewhat spiteful way of forcing people to tip, because, if they don't, they are afraid to get bad service.
Look at the sense of entitlement, if you don’t tip you get shitty service. Is there any other job on the planet that does that? If you give shitty service in any other job you get fucking fired. Also you think the Indy developers don’t need the money? There’s a question, why don’t we tip video game developers that make the games we love? Instead Link pays them back by their stealing the games.
Return customers, because they didn't tip last time... also one of the only professions where they repay loyalty with terrible service.
What seperates an Indy game, from the major developers' game... apart from the profit margins. Edit: Is that supposed to make it all better, that you never pirate an indy game.
Even if that’s true (which given your record is doubtful) you still admit to pirating games which obviously hurts the developers.
You need to understand that the only reason you would not tip is if your a cheap asshole in America. Otherwise if the service was bad you should give them a penny to let them know and you would not come back again. And I highly doubt you would be remembered unless you come very often. And if I was a waiter who knew you don't give tips I would give you shitty service too. My wage depends on your tipping.
As Stalin pointed out... why would you give waiters special treatment, if anything it's the scientists researching cures for known dieseases and the scientists creating alternative fuels etc. who deserve a tip. Not some asshole who's going to give you poor service if you don't give him money which he is already earning from giving me the food.
What a backwards system that encourages bad service. It's like a threat, "If you don't tip you get shitty service." As I said before if you do a bad job in any other profession you get fired.
