Well if you've seen the Prince of Macedons recent vids you'll notice his "what if battles". But rather than have these battles played out on a game lets battle it out here. what if people like Wladyslaw(pronounced: Valdislav its Polish for Valdimir basically.) the elbow high. king of Poland from 1320 to 1333 and his army fought others such as Hernan Cortes spanish expedtionary leader and his contingent from 1519 to 1541.
So post a match up and discuss who would when and why. Use what i just said as a starter. I would think Hernan Cortes would win based on superior technology and infantry. Despite Wladyslaw's heavy cavalry.

    That is not you're concern...
An alternate battle history, the battle of Britain. In which case Germans won the long air battle, then proceeded to commence operation sea lion, which would have undoubtedly crushed the British in their cozy island fort!

1066, still the best what if? of all time. There where three sides all going against each other in order to shape the future of Britannia and the world.

Well it depends if he means the entire war was over, and they won it in a treaty, or they took it during the war...

What if the Roman legions fought Han Chinese troops?
What if Napoleon or Hitler invaded Britain?
What if the Yamato engaged the Missouri?
What if Iranian forces entered Baghdad during the Iran-Iraq War?

Provided you are not talking about the professional Han troops... well, the legionaries could only swing their gladiators for so long...

    Numbers? Terrain? Timeframe?
You have to be much more specific as Roman Legions, and I would assume the Han Chinese, varied.
    They probably both would've lost.
Again, depends. It could've led to nothing changing or everything changing.
Then the International Community would've bitched at them until they left. Iran would've won the Iran-Iraq War but would have lost more lives than it was worth.

Ultimately though, you cannot conquer a sovereign state nowadays. So Iran would've gotten next to nothing beyond being a semi-dominate regional power.
