Personaly I would say morals is more important because while the ethical person knows he needs to help people, the moral person will actually help people.
Morality and ethics are more or less inseparable. Ethics can tell you what action is correct, but morality will determine how you feel about it. Say you've got a train full of people wired with explosives, and it's going to blow unless Dave kills his best friend Don. Ethically, Dave might be compelled to do it because of his Utilitarian beliefs, but I doubt he will feel that it was a moral action. I think that morality is often the more powerful of the two, but in terms of public policy I should hope that ethics are guiding the actions of a legislature.
They are both equally important. Morals are more important to each individual, so that they can do the right things. Ethics are more important in the whole society and human community.
You're right about them both being important, but I was just stating that ethics is what you should do but morals is what you will do. And on a side note: yes! I started a logical debate!
Ok, this topic didn't attract as much people as possible, so if you are wanting to debate your views I would recommend going on to Legal Positivism versus Natural Law.
