i have wondered this for a while if aliens do find us what would they think of us. would they think we are violent, divided, and stupid or kind, united and smart or more likely something in between
It does depend on how the extraterrestrials see things. Going off a human view they would most likely view us with disgust. Lets just say in a few hundred years human have discovered life on some distant planet. And on this planet there is a dominate species. Now this species constantly wages war, tortures, and murders its own people. They also segregate their own people. Some are forced as slaves, while others live the high life. Well this species is just like the Human race.
It's pure speculation. We don't know what aliens would think of us, if they see what we do today. I hate how alot of people assume that aliens would be peaceful, "enlightened" beings that would look down on us because we fight with eachother. How do you know? Another inteligent race could be just as violent as us, if not more so.
If this was a human race who were to view us I believe they would have very mixed feelings and opinions, while they would perhaps at first think very badly of us, perhaps they would have some understanding when learning of all the situations and causes.
It is an absolutely subjective question depending on the aliens. Watch too much sci fi and you get the idea that waaaah we so violent waaaah. All life is like that.
Like I said, no one knows how alien life would respond. But lets hope that they do not have human nature. If they did it would be almost like the New world scenario. The European (being the aliens) discovered the "new world" and also the less superior Native Americans. Well we all know how it turned out for the Native Americans. Any more to be said?
That again depends on the aliens. The Europeans went to the New World to find trade routes, and ended up finding the Natives and their riches. The humans that they were then proceeded to kill and pillage the Natives. Aliens could be different, it depends on their own society.
If they are peaceful they would honestly probably wonder how the hell humanity is still alive. Then if contact is made then obviously they would want to answer that question (Que WTF?? faces from aliens) If Coming to conquer they would probably disregard the entire nuclear force and military power of earth (Cue thousands of nukes being fired into space)
