Because 1) They're rich enough already, they should stop complaining because we want to have just a fraction of the entertainment they get daily 2) It's free, and free things are nice to have.

Anyway, I'm not paying 20 bucks to see a movie I can see on Pirate Bay or something.

Just a friendly reminder, the site doesn't tolerate softwhere or intellectual property piracy. It's alright to have a candid discussion about why people do it, but actually talking about how to do so will result in a 2nd tier infraction....

Yeah, if there isn't a demo for a game, I'll sometimes pirate it, try it out, and buy it if I like it.

I can sympathize. Sometimes, there is a demo out, but I just don't want to pay for shit so I pirate it and then never buy the game.

Just going to throw it out there to spark some actual debate, if there is no God, which at least a third or more people on the forum believe, why should I NOT pirate the game?

Well, it depends on what kind of pirating, and whether or not you end up paying the creator of the pirated material in some way. Generally, blatant pirating, such as solely for the purpose of owning material without paying for it, is theft and should be avoided. However, pirating is not as bad as real life theft, because in real life every good you steal costs money to produce, while digital material is produced once and then copied for free.
"Because it's the law" should never be used in an argument as to whether or not something is moral.

Tito's right, simply because it's the law isn't a reason.

Also as Tito said, since it was free to make, your not really stealing anything but "possible" wealth, not wealth itself.
But we cannot simply not do something only because it is theft. Should theft be without a real victim then there's no reason it would be a bad thing. It would be like stealing a candy bar from someone with an infinate number of candy bars.

    Are we without a reason?
