So, how about those greeks eh?

Greeks were pretty awesome. Such a shame their pride in battle became their downfall when they refused to change their tactics.

Unfortunately yes....

Exactly, had they used archers and cavalry to complement their phalanxes, their armies would've been a lot scarier.

And had they gone out of the box and united (I know so scary) they could have beaten the Romans.

THAT would've been quite interesting. Or even a three-way Punic War. Oh, those silly Greeks and their ways of fighting and not uniting...

If you count Phillip V the Romans had 2 people against them so...

Imagine if the Greeks had united. We wouldn't be using the same language.

They had united on a few different occasions.

To defend Greece from the invading Persians.

And you could say Phillip and Alexander united them as well.

Obviously, I meant for the Roman invasion.

That would've been pretty awesome. I mean, we do have quite a bit of Greek influence in our languages (most of which were adopted into Latin anyway), but I do think the Greek letters are way more awesome than the Latin ones. Math would've been weird, though, although I guess we could've used the Latin alphabet for that.

Actually math has the Hindu-Greek Numerals.

The Greek alphabet is quite commonly used in math, physics, and I believe science as well. Number wise, I thought the ones we used were Arabian.

Yes, the Arabian numerals were a combination of Greek and Hindu numbers. Hence the name, Hindu-Greek.

Really? That's interesting, I always thought they also originated from Arabia.
