Yeah but as president, he didnt do much. Most of the stuff he did was before he became president.

James Buchanan was the worst in my opinion.

A jew on the forums who lived in Israel and was from North Carolina. He served in the IDF. He was a mod at one point, but questions over whether or not he was telling his true identity made him leave the forums (which he was already kinda doing on his own accord anyway).

You seem to misunderstand the definition of "US president". The less a president does, the less he fucks up. Because for some reason, they tend to fuck everything they do up.

So you think it was OK for him to do nothing when South Carolina seceded?

To the defense of Washington, at least he stopped the Whiskey Rebellion.

I disagree if everything a president does causes trouble. What about times when things do need to be done? If they did nothing chances are we would not have presidents who would no try to stop child labor, declare war on Japan after Pearl Harbor, or give us interest into space exploration.

I don't know a lot about US history. It all comes down to the situation, but doing nothing is generally best.

You must have not read the rest of my comment. So should they had done nothing for child labor?

I disagree that nothing is generally best and I proved by bringing in child labor as an example and another would be civil rights.

Damn, you really don't see the point I'm trying to make, do you? Civil rights and child labor are both things that have already been solved in the US. And you didn't proof anything, because I said "generally", as in "mostly, not always". Shall I spell it out for you?

An example of a president who tried your method of not doing anything generally would be Grover Cleveland who had two non-consecutive terms. Both of those terms sucked. In the first term he did not do a thing which made Ben
Harrison president and then when he got reelected he barely did a thing to stop the economic crisis which caused him to leave unpopular.

Any further argument to back that up?

Really, I think that a government should do shit, but the way the US' governments have done it so far, is generally wrong.

Herbet Hoover's plan during the Great Depression was to do nothing and let the people sort it out themselves. That left America sitting in a pile of shit with 1/4 of the people unemployed. Then FDR came in and did stuff and we were in an economic boom until Reagan came along.

I will give this to Washington he kept the Country from falling apart after the country just really got started. He stoped the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794. He also kept the United States out of the Conflict between Great Britian and France in 1793, which at first many people in the US thought we should get involved in. (On the French side). Last Washington helped normalize trade with Great Britian with the Jay Treaty.
