Guys I've been keeping this hidden for a while but capitalism is bad. I mean have you ever thought about how crazy that is, like there is so much stuff and people have way more than they need. And other people don't even have enough to like live with dignity. Shit man. That's not fair! No wonder the guys who don't have anything are like totally pissed of at the people that do., because they're hording the stuff that they need. And that's the whole history of the world, you get mad and just fucking take what's theirs, you know? That happens over and over again for like forever.

But it doesn't belong to them anymore than the other guy. It belongs to all of us. We all work hard, and if we just like admit that it belongs to all of us? And mabye they don't all sign on so we have to force them to with a strong central government, but they'll come around because it's awesome. Who would be into that shit. So then it's all about sharing. It's basic pre-kindergarten stuff. Think about it, it's all in our muscle memory.

Look I even changed my signature to match my new position, so we're cool right?
    DukeofAwesome and matthewchris like this.

Adding a mod because of their supposed ideological beliefs is just stupid.

You're right, it shouldn't, but when the mods play a dual role: both policy makers and posters, the only thing we see is the ideology. While I know that the mods don't let that ride when making decisions, it is easy to see how people might think otherwise, considering that we cannot see the mod corner.

It doesn't really matter what they think. As long as we uphold the rules, and act with reason, we are doing our job. It doesn't matter if they feel represented or not.

Also, would anyone else support Link as a new mod?

Ideology has nothing to do with the process of administrating the site. The only time it surfaces is when we're dealing with rule proposals, and even then we have a diverse array of honkies. During infraction related stuff, we're strictly interpreting the rules and the subject material.

    Yeah...no.
The fastest way to lose any hope of being a moderator is to ask for it, you will be bestowed with the title if you are worthy of a role. Don't call them, they'll call you.

I does matter what they think, and for that matter, what any of us thinks. We can't see you act with reason, we can't see you doing you job until all is over and done with. Even on issues that are highly contested among the mods, where a decision is only reached by the slimmest of margins, we cannot see it. We cannot see you follow the rules, not really. This whole system as it currently stands was created on the basis of people feeling like they had more of a say in the way the site was run. Representation matters.

The modship exists outside the illusion of democracy, and the administration should have to represent everybody, or anybody for that matter. It doesn't particularly matter what people think of us when we act outside our duties as moderators, because as long as we do that efficiently, we have no issue. For representation, you the Tribunes, who are supposed to be subject to your whim. So, instead of calling for a new mod, how about you guys actually utilize the system at hand?

You can always have a puppet mod with no real power to appease the people.

    Or you can crush everyone.

Purge everyone! Perma bans for every member. That's the only way to save this forum.

Anyways I am probably the most left leaning mod, I dunno about Observer. I don't consider my personal political and social beliefs when making mod decisions however.
