    I agree that it's hard to justify the pepper spraying, but from what I remember about the facts of the situation they weren't there legally and were asked to leave and warned that they would be forcibly removed. The only possible justification is trying to think how you can physically remove a chained group of people like that? You can either try to out strength them or you can use some sort of momentary shock to make them unlock their arms. Not really a good resolution to the situation, but maybe it's better then what they used to do?

    Lol @2:30ish... "We went to Afghanistan for it's rare minerals..." What the hell? Damn, the protesters discovered our secret government gold and silver mines that we've been using to line our yachts and Maserati's!

    I'm curious, what are they inflating and exaggerating in this case?

    @pedro3131

    In Singapore they chain you to a public pole and beat you with a cane you for the smallest amount of contraband. If you pass out they take you to the emergency room, fix you up, and then finish the beating.

    But that's ok because they used to execute you for it.

    They always do.

    And anything that disses on American media such as RT is best news station.

    edit- they are also Government funded

    It has also become the home to Julian Assange's new interview show where he interviews people like the Leader of Hezzbollah and Activists.

    RT - Question more!

    Well that was kind of stupid... Why didn't they just apply like regular protesters?
    And I don't think they realized that "forcibly removed" included severe pepper spraying. I certainly wouldn't expect it if the police here said something along those lines.
    Well I would just start from the sides and move futher in. Pulling two persons apart is not really that hard if you have enough men. I would also prefer to be hosed than pepper sprayed.

    @ComradeLer
    You claim to have seen live footage from with-in the crowds.

    And if you've never been in a mosh pit before, they look a lot worse than they are when you're in the middle of one.

    The live footage I saw was all taken by a legitimate news organization, not from a hippie with a smart phone.

    And it was all shot from a birds-eye view, where you could see what was really happening.

    The BBC is government funded. You want to get up in arms about them too? And besides, just assuming that they're making stuff up because you don't like them is probably a bad idea. I don't even do that with Fox News. If it sounds fishy then actually do some research.

    Also that program sounds awesome. Know when it's on?

    Ler, sorry to rain on your parade, but this is not what the US does every time there is a protest:(skip to 2 hours 18 minutes)

    The Kent State massacre. The National Guard had no idea what they were doing, and one idiot started firing. Killing 5 people is different than purposely going out of your way to slaughter children protesting, and raid their homes and villages on multiple occasions.

    But the thing is what im pointing out, that nowadays the police force or the military can control the huge masses of people. Sure there might be some big injuries if a uptight hippie fights back, but thats aside the point. They use shock and bang tactics to disperse ringleaders from their power over the people. Like for instance in GB they used horse troopers to cut the mass in half and push them back, controlling the protest better.

    Which is exactly how they should handle the protests.
