If I'm correct, the Turing Test only applies to things like Cleverbot - as in, a computer that can simulate a conversation with a human. Robots, computers and machines will not gain intelligence, nor is it particularly useful to have them be intelligent in the first place.
This thread would've been much better as a spam thread about how Alex Turing, or whatever that forum member's name is, is a homosexual.
Well, in mathematical terms it is an inequality, meaning greater than. 6 > 4. It is also used of 4chan as a means of making long lines of text look shorter, when used at the start of a sentence, it reduces the size of the spacing between words, and turns it green. Yes. It isn't much fun trying to engage a toaster in intelligent conversation, unless it is a Wapanese toaster of course. I was only using the Turing Test as an example for things that are capable of it.
I have no idea. Go ask them yourself. Though I doubt you will get any more sense out of them than 'OP is a faggot.'
Oh yeah, well look at it this way. Shut up. Also, your completely legal original content that doesn't violate the rules in any way has been censored.
That is all I have to say to your response. On another note, bollocks. The administratin is mean and I don't like them.
No, machines can't think, they search among their data banks and programming to find something out. Computers don't have a "memory", they have data banks. They can't put two and two together (figuratively) unless they are programmed to do new things. Also, computers can't learn as such without us programming it into them. They can't figure it out for themselves. So yeah, computers don't think. Theoretically I guess its possible, but don't quote me on that.
Yesh, a computer, no matter how clever, must still rely on what it has been told. It can't make up it's own ideas. Yet. Theoretically I guess it's possible, but don't quote me on that. I will take the time to say, however, that a computers method of thinking that is finding the information it needs from pre-created data banks isn't much different than most humans when Google is involved.
