there's a modern-warfare mod. but sadly it's multi-player only and is not very popular

That would actually be pretty interesting but complicated. I imagine turning a FPS into a strategy would be very hard.

no not call of duty modern warfare. actual 21st century tech. i did play some of it and the only thing is they had to add some earlier tanks as light Armour since the Abrams tank being the 60 ton monster it is can't be passed off as a light tank. basically the factions are west vs east (america +allies vs terrorist/asian nations) each with it's own advantages. the west has very powerful infantry and tanks but can't field much of them due to money issues. the east has a lot of cheap units able to swarm the enemy. there are a lot of other stuff but it was abandoned mid-beta.

Oh, well that sounds like it would be easier to make in Vietnam.

There is a Men of War Vietnam isn't there? I've never played it or seen it in shops, so I don't know if it's any good. This modern warfare idea could be good for the next Men of War game, especially since MoW in WWII has a decent selection of nations; this would presumably be replicated in future games. But then gameplay wise, I imagine all the European nations apart from the UK and Germany would be pretty similar.

Absolutely. One mod I can recommend for sure is the HD mod. It basically enhances all of the textures and music, and also adds a few maps.

Then there's the Brothers of War mod. This one adds a lot of units and maps. There's a ton of new vehicles, infantry squads, special units and even planes. Play this in combination with HD mod to make it even better. http://www.moddb.com/mods/brothers-of-war-bow

Another mod I like is the Globar War mod. It adds a new gamemode which is a lot like Company of Heroes. It's still slightly buggy and can become extremely hard, but it is a lot of fun. If you tried the other ones, you should get this one as well.

There are plenty of other mods, but these are the best ones that I've played. In fact, it has been quite a while since I played without HD+BoW mods enabled.
