I now believe in the Matrix, and have an shrine to Lemmy in my closet. So, don't call me stupid Link.
I guess that makes me neo, I can live with that.[/quote:2lm8ffgs] No, you're just one of the other people living in the matrix. If you were Neo you would've known the truth. But you didn't know you were living in the matrix until I just told you.
That reminds me, someone shouted something about Neo across the street at me a couple of weeks ago I can't think why, I look nothing like Keanu Reeves; personally I prefer Agent Smith (with earpiece - the first film in a trilogy is always the best lol)
I remember reading something about how we are more likely than not to be living in a Matrix like simulation world.
I found this Wikipedia article about what I was talking about if any of you are interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulation_argument
Thank you, now I wont be able to sleep, because I'll be thinking about whether or not I exist and how.
Well this follows "I think therefore I am." The only 2 things you know for certain are that you exist and that you exist somewhere.
Was Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel a German Philosopher, an atheist or Christian? I've been reading a bit about Hegelianism in the Communist Manifesto. Hegalianism was apparently fundamentalist christian, but i'm not totally sure to be honest.
Probably in the latter stages of the book I will find out about his religion. He seems quite a good Philosopher. He doesn't like the catholic orthodoxy religion that is in some Prussian regions. He might believe in Protestant Christianity, but time will have to tell in the context of the book.
Sorry for the late response, but I only now noticed Kalalification's last post, not sure how I missed it... You admit that category 4 is the agnostic position? You admit that category 5 is an atheist position? Everything else is agnosticism? Yes, in a way, but are you saying that anyone between categories 1 and 7 should be labeled agnostic? This is how I interpret the spectrum: categories 1, 2, and 3 are theists, 4 is agnostic, 5, 6, and 7 are atheists. 2, 3, 5, and 6 are technically agnostic, but that only defines one aspect of their position on god's existence. That being whether or not they believe god's existence is knowable. But what's more important when assigning labels to these different categories is what they believe is the probability of god's existence, not whether or not they believe it's knowable.
