I'm terrible at ranking stuff, although there's one clear #1 for me: The Pokemon franchise. Laugh about it all you will, but I grew up with it, and it's awesome. Period. No, really, period. Others are Civ III, EU III, Mount and Blade, the Rollercoaster Tycoon series, the Total War series, Wario Land 3 (which I'm LPing right now), Need for Speed Underground 2 and Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2.
In no particular order Metal Gear Solid 3 Mass Effect Mass Effect 2 Empire: Total War Halo: Reach 007 Goldeneye (N64) LOZ: OOT F-Zero X GTA: Vice City Red Dead Redepmtion

It's really hard for me to choose, and I think I would include a lot more games in the 1, 2, and 3 slots if it were possible. Also, I don't want to dig back through time to choose older games, because while they are great, I don't think I'd see myself playing them over what I have available today. 1. Red Dead Redemption - I was blown away by this game and its incredible open-endedness. Rockstar did an utterly fantastic job, and even though I don't particularly care for Westerns, got me really interested in the plot and setting. The singleplayer took me on a journey with John Marston, and brought home a sincere message that most games won't even touch. 2. Mass Effect 2 - For 3 days straight I played this game, and it was absolutely wonderful! Mass Effect didn't have the best gameplay, but almost all of the shortcomings were fixed in Mass Effect 2, and it had a better story to boot! 3. Europa Universalis III: Heir to the Throne - This game has got such replayability that it has never once sprung the same scenario on me when I've played it. Paradox in general releases just absolutely awesome games. 4. Empire/Napoleon Total War - I've always been fascinated by the 18th century, but before Empire and Napoleon it was mostly focused on the Enlightenment. Having played these great games I now know that there was a lot more to line infantry warfare than it might seem! 5. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - This game seriously kicks ass. The Battlefield series may have lost its way for a little while, but with BF:BC2 they definitely bounced back; now I'm looking forward to Battlefield 3!
My top 5 list is subject to change without notice, but here it is, plus honourable mentions: 1. Fallout 3/New Vegas 2. Every Bioware game I've played 3. The Halo series 4. The Assassin's Creed series 5. Borderlands Honourable mentions: Red Dead Redemption, Crimson Skies, Republic Commando, Civilization 5, Dead Space 2
Damn, tricky one. I go through phases so this will be out of date soon. 1. BF2, even though I can't play it atm due to a p2p filter on my internet. 2. Empire Total War, really enjoying it right now. 3. Fallout 3/New Vegas, does this even need an explanation? 4. Mass Effect 1 & 2, fantastic story line and great gameplay (even with the bouncy castle vehicle physics of ME1). 5. Half Life 2 (ep.1 & 2), loved how original the story was 6. Medieval Total War 2, among other things it had great replay value 7. The Command and Conquer series, with the exception of Red Alert 3 (it was too easy, too dumbed down and the graphics got on my nerves). 8. Metro 2033, great story line, voice acting, locations. 9. The Pokemon games, so fun, addictive and charming. 10. 007 Golden Eye on the N64, one of my first gaming experiences
I favorite my games by Series. I don't like to favorite a specific game or else that would be impossible for me. 1. Zelda series 2. Mario series 3. Total War series 4. 007 series 5. Star Wars series (Battlefront, Rogue Squadron, etc.) 6. Fallout series 7. Ratchet and Clank series 8. Call of duty series (Earlier Games) 9. Medal of Honor series (Earlier Games) 10. Red Faction series
Is it sad that I recognized your Avatar as Ney without even using google? Good call on 07 and Mario, totally forgot the hours upon hours spent playing goldeneye
1)Dawn of War 2 + expansions - simply put, the best RTS I've ever payer to date. 2)A BoWare Game - Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Knights of the old Republic, doesn't matter which, they are all great. 3)Bad Company 2 - got bored from MW2 and found the single best shooter out there.
