Most of the parties fought it back when it was proposed. They just want to leave it up to the provinces and just give them money to do it.

Wow, that's quite a wall of text you got there. My English teacher is slitting her wrist because you can't start sentences with capital letters.

Also, it's possible (when I say "possible", I mean "is") that the abolishment of the long gun registry is simply a move to appeal the rural farmer/rancher/hunter demographic of western Canada, which can accurately be described as a sea of blue. This sea of blue seems to oddly coincide with who pays the bills in Canada.

Not particularly for (or against) the gun registry though, as a person who does not own a gun, or plan to own a gun, it's serves me no purpose either way. But the sound of whining farmers is really annoying.

No one is privatizing healthcare. That is something fundamental to the Canadian imaginary and getting rid of that would be a terrible move.
Over the past ten years there has been an increase in smuggling (illegal substances, weapons, and people) through the Canadian North. It is an international problem. The Conservatives are pushing to expand our military presence to stop smuggling through our North. Toronto is also rife with gun running, drugs, and illegal activity that the police have not bothered to crack down on with a lack of budget.
I agree that cutting taxes is a bad thing. We should keep taxes the same. However the projections for eliminating our deficit is a good goal. But they are "not [cutting] transfer payments for crucial services like healthcare and education".
A stable government doing something worth while is better than a minority sitting around. Governments are supposed to work for their people and minorities do not work.

The only thing I utterly hate is that they want to get rid of the long gun registry which I like I think we need even more gun control not less.

I'm apathetic to the long gun registry issues, and don't support taxes being altered in any way.
I think that these guy's will be useful until we get ourselves entirely out of the hole, I mean, it appears to have worked so far!

The big problem is the gun running going on in Toronto, BC, and Montreal. They are not too concerned with hunters and sport shooters, but I can see why not having to have a registration for people owning a gun is a big issue.

We aren't. They are not that right.

you know what, for the first time I agree with che 100%.

We need to resist Harper. People I know who are conservatives did not vote for them because Harper is nothing like the old Progressive Conservatives. I just hope I dont get sick in the next 5 years...

Haha, tell your English teacher i apologize, i could care less about capitals on the computer. but yes, i live in Alberta, the most conservative place in the country, but in the long gun registry if it can stop poachers and so on and so forth, then i am all for it. the Tories don't want it because they say it costs too much, but if the police chiefs say they want it, then im all for it - because it can catch criminals. man i know i live in a sea of blue. and i haaaaaaate it
