    For the past decade or so China has been expanding its maritime influence in the South China sea. They're actively trying to dislodge the British and US navies there, so the notion that they are a passive actor on the international stage just isn't true.

    As the native Taiwanese here, I am very worried. Even though they claim it's just a training vessel, it's still better than any ship we have. We're still using subs that date back to WW2, and biggest ships we have are frigates and destroyers. Sure, our great military minds are creating anti-ship missiles, but they can't hit shit! Plus, the overall discipline and morale of our mighty military are a fucking shambles. So, again, I am worried.

    I like how some Americans are freaking out about this. It's one shitty carrier what are they gona do with it that can harm the US. Let China have it's carrier it's only gona cost them a shitton off money and it's not gona be theire ultimate wepon, they allready have nukes. I never got this Aircraft carrier fad some countries have going... why the hell does the UK need a carrier or better yet why does Italy need one, It's just a finacial burden. We allready have one world police with 11 that should be enough. before you know it every other country in the world would want aircraft carriers, and it would be a collosal wast of money,


    You know what would be funny though... if Somalia made an aircraft carrier...I wonder what it would look like. I'm a terrible person sorry.
