That, and the protection of Tyre itself and all of it's assets.

Tyre, the Levantine Kingdom and Carthage are all in a mutually beneficial defensive trade alliance; Sparta and Carthage are readying for war against Athens, whilst Tyre tries to pick a side and the Levantine Kingdom takes no side.

The Danzigian President Augustyn has commissioned a new series of war ships to help in any further conquests. Augustyn has also sent diplomats to both Athens , Sparta, and Carthage inorder to find out what is going on.

We do not want to screw over our faithful ally of Carthage. We want there opinion on our course of action first. (You see if you beat us naval wise it won't matter because we can still siege Athens.) @Anwrise888 (That and Anwrise boats are still in Crete so you cant attack them, and an invasion of Crete is suicide.)

Dalmatia wishes to discuss the substance of our alliance. How do you propose we secure and protect our trade together?

What do you mean new warships? Isn't it only 446 BC?

After an earlier debacle with some Cretan pirates, we suggest areas of the Mediterranean which each of our galleys will patrol respectively. In case of a pirate attack or pirate outbreak, we should combine navy's to defeat the pirates and secure trade. If a mutual enemy of ours declares war, we combine forces to defeat them.

If you feel particularly unscrupulous, we could wipe out any city which threatens our trade monopolies.

I meant a sort of viking ships. Just a bit of modern slang mixed with classical era ships.

I agree to this, but I may need some time before my navy is big enough for this. Any help in this regard, perhaps materials or workers, would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the Dalmatians feel they are perfectly placed to initiate trade between your eastern nation and those of central Europe. We feel it would be beneficial for both of us if Dalmatia served as a gateway between these two, allowing goods to travel across the known world and trade to flourish. If we can get Tyre's agreement with this, Dalmatia can begin securing trade routes with promises of your fine eastern goods. We feel there is money to be made all around.

Danzig requests trading rights of silk in Tyre. This will increase revenue for me, and my merchants will pay a special tariff to you that would help you. Is this a deal?

Tyre will try to slip by a small transport ship to Dalmatia, with five shipwrights and five cartographers, who will spend as long as it takes to aid you in the construction of new vessels. The cartographers will also map out the outlying area.

We feel this waypoint method of trade will be exceedingly efficient, as our trading cogs would be hard-pressed to make the same journey our original expeditionary ship did, all the way to the channel. However, we do expect a fair share of the profits from the shipping of our goods, something along the lines of 60% for us and 40% for you. This is negotiable, and we will contribute to the refunding of any sunken ships.

We will accept this deal, as soon as another trading caravan is sent overland to Danzig, we will send many bolts of our silk.

Sparta will stop guarding the Greek trade by land if you support Tyre. In fact we will do the opposite and make sure all trade stops by land in your country. We will not allow a trade monopoly.

I don't see what the problem is. Most, if not all, of the Mediterranean states have purchased Tyrian goods exclusively, as well as Poznan, and even Danzig in the past. All this new deal will do is expand the Tyrian trade to further reaches.

At the expense of controlling all of the eastern Mediterranean. It would make Danzig have difficulty tarding with anybody but your monopoly in the Mediterranean.

But it could cut the brave Danzig merchants out of their share of the profits! Either allow free trade, or no trade at all! If this continues, I will use the Danzig fleet to support any action thefatkid takes against you.
